I wish I could say that work was exciting, really.

But it's not, sadly. I'll tell you what went on today.

Again, I was dropped off at work at 5:30am (pickup was later than usual due to an accident on the highway, but let's forget about that). At 6am we went Live to show the Pope give his weekly speech to the masses, and then return to shows for just under 4 hours, only to go Live again at 10am for some other Pope-ish thing. Here's where it got interesting, if you can call it that. It was scheduled for a full hour. At 10 I had the computer put out some small, inconsequential shows so I can cut away from them to the Live. Well, the Pope thing didn't actually go Live until 10:10, so I was hovering over the "switch" button for 10 minutes, waiting for them to go Live.

And then it ends in 20 minutes. O_o

I'm glad I didn't decide to go get food or something while they went live... this unpredictability is kinda ridiculous. Even the originating station thought that the second Live event was going to be an hour, and it only lasted a third of that. O_o

In any case, I'm halfway through The Two Towers now. I've got another 9 days to get through the rest. I want to see the Ents in the movie ^_^

Hey! I feel actually kinda happy about this, tho! I've managed to get New Year's Day off. ^_^ I was originally working all three stat holidays (Xmas in the Afternoon, Boxing Day in the Atternoon, New Years in the Morning), and thanks to Paul, he's let me have New Year's off. So now I don't have to wake up with an extreme hangover at 4am on New Year's to go to work ^_^

Comparing Pokemon to Psychiatry... I think it's funny that they know stuff about Psychiatry and Pokemon ^_^

I'm waiting for a soccer mom to complain about the BMX XXX game that she got for her kid for Xmas. When that happens, I'd gladly defend Acclaim and say "What were you expecting, with 'XXX' in the title itself?" How stupid do they have to be? Aside from the "Mature 18+" rating and the packaging, the title just screams "this will offend the easily offended".

It was COLD at work today... for the majority of the time I spent in that box I was in my coat. v_v I shall have to take this up with the others who work here... we need a space heater or something. Screw the fire hazard... We can't work in sub-zero rooms in winter.

I was actually feeling kinda sick today - I think I hadn't eate anything solid that morning so my body suddenly felt fluish. I got some chili from the Tim's (a spoon would've been nice, tho -_-) and I felt better.

Heyyyyy, anyone want to buy a Segway? It's an Amazon Exclusive... and only for $4950 US! What a bargain! (Ai...)

Future Shop has the My Neighbor Totoro DVD for $12. Not a bad price, considering I think I paid $20 for the VHS two years ago O_o (And go figure, they're out of stock. ^_^)

This post has gone on long enough! Stop it, it's silly!

Kinnon tells me that the Totoro DVD has no Japanese language track... but still, for high-quality Miyazaki ya can't go wrong ^_^

I've already seen the raw totoro so I would not care about the dvd not having it ^_^

just download it from kazaa if you want the japanese language with subs. or buy the entire myazaki collection from ebay for $30 (including 'spirited away,' but not the celebrity dub.)

they got the psychologist and psychiatrist thing mixed around... psychologists can't dispense meds. they just do talk therapy, and they aren't qualified to give you advice. they are basically glorified counsilors... psychiatrists are actual doctors, though, and they specialise in more difficult-to-treat illnesses. the hard ones are the ones that need meds, by the way. not the other way round. someone with depression after someone died isn't going to need meds, just talk therapy (the meds only get rid of the symptoms, not the cause). people with bipolar need meds, and talk therapy usually doesn't help at all, because it is caused by a chemical imbalence.

*nods and thanks the Saku* Psychologist = Talk, Psychiatrist = Meds... hm, I wonder how I can remember that. ^_^
