Hah, I wasn't been back for more than 24 hours from Halifax and already my Firefox had no fewer than 27 tabs open. XD It's all cleanup, it's all good. Need to do some cleanup on e-mails, too...

So, after curiousity needing to know why our ears pop in high altitudes and why I can't just deal with it short of having a painful feeling, we're back home from Chris and Ysa's. Here's how things went:

Monday: Since we woke up at 4:30 to catch our flight, we had an easy night in where the two of us took turns falling asleep on their couch. :P

Tuesday: We got up fairly late, puttered around a bit until Chris came home from his half-day and we went down to the Harbour. We travelled across to Dartmouth on a Ferry for a short trip out there, then returned back. We took a whole load of photos. We ate at a local restaurant (Salty's) where Christine had a first whole lobster. :) We entirely exhausted ourselves as we didn't do much on Wednesday. XD

Wednesday: Not too much happened here, but I do remember we took turns showing each other the DVDs we had acquired - so we saw some Twin Peaks, Black Books, Robot Chicken, and Venture Brothers while Ysa showed us Criminal Minds. One of their friends, Josh, showed up, and played a few songs for us on a guitar Chris & Ysa hold on to, hung out for a few hours (we played Fluxx), and headed out.

Thursday, we made our way to the Halifax Art Gallery as Christine was wanting to visit. We saw a lot of folk art there, it appears that Halifax is steeped in folk art traditions. I remember reading something about mechanized art pieces that serve no purpose, and I immediately thought that it was calling to me, since I have one such mechanism brewing in my head (and have been for years now).

We flew back out around noon on Friday. The flight (Sunwing) was surprisingly cheap and we actually still got food and 3/4 of a movie, both ways (the flight is that short!).

We had a great time out there. I really like kicking back and chilling with Chris and Ysa. It's all so very relaxing out there in the Maritimes. And inexpensive! Makes me feel like I'm spending way too much money in this Conrete Jungle. Almost makes me want to move out there and enjoy a more relaxed environment...

I'd love to visit Halifax, but I doubt I could live there. The weather's not my cup of tea in winter. :(

Wow, that was a fast response. XD

I've only been there once during the winter, and that was when my sister was in Dalhousie, just after the city was hit with a few feet (!) of snow. It was... impressive, but yes, the snow definitely made it hard to travel around in. XD

*g* Hey, that'd work for us!

Also, the winter weather sucks, but so does Toronto's. *shrugs* It's just different. (I don't even think there's a huge difference in snowfall, all told.) And your spring is usually better, but our autumn is usually better, so it pans out. ^_^

I'm fairly sure that NS winters are actually milder than ON winters. We have the balancing impact of being almost entirely surrounded by a very large body of water... Lake Ontario just doesn't cut it. ;P Your last visit was the largest snowfall I have *ever* seen, and I've lived here my whole life. It also stays cooler in the summer.

Although winter freezing rain is typical, and that's a serious pain in the ass.

NS winters are much milder, but my problem with them is the constant freeze-thaw-freeze-thaw and inches of slush over an ice crust. Since Toronto's colder, all that happens is the snow stays and...well, turns completely black and revolting, which is no good either.

Hawai'i's nice. Yep.
