Okay, here's something that's quite amazing. I'm sure everyone remember the Chuck E Cheese band back in the day - apparently there was a competitor by the name of Showbiz Pizza, and they had their own group, called the Rock-afire Explosion. Apparently one of the original creators is programming his creation to sing some more recent works. I'm not a fan of Usher, but the presentation is what kept me glued to the screen. :D

Also, check out their version of Madonna's "4 Minutes". Insanely active for animatronics! (Heh, I said in my head "This is the future" XD)

A little while ago I alluded to a man who was selling his life - Christine followed up on it and sent me this link - turns out he was a little disappointed in his self-thought value, but nonetheless, apparently his life was about a third of a million dollars. Seeing he has a website, I have to wonder if he'll update people on what he's going to do ... (Edit: Apparently he is.)

For the geeks: a leaked memo about Bill Gates upset about XP and the Microsoft website. Oooh, scandal. XD

Here's a nifty time-travelling game, Chronotron. Try to work out the intricacies of thinking in the future ;)

Pretty soon, I'm going to declare e-mail bankruptcy on my two Hotmail Accounts. (I'm not so much inundated with spam e-mails, I'm just tired of the Hotmail system and its lack of Outlook support.) If you need a new e-mail for me, let me know and I'll send it your way since I've almost entirely moved to GMail now. :)

Alright, I'm off to [livejournal.com profile] safielstar's wedding :D

Have you seen the trailer for the documentary about this whole Rockafire thing?

Honestly, I always found animatronics stuff to be a little silly -- I love the idea, but with the technology being what it is, they always wind up looking so ridiculous... But the tiny but committed fan base that's built up around them is just so charming, I think I want to see the movie... :)

Yeah, I'm curious about the film, too, now that I've seen the trailer... :)

I've always liked animatronics - it's a bit dated, yes, but it's the basis for so many robots these days and android-like motions. What really impressed me with these Rock-afire Explosion characters is that they weren't just "arm up, arm down" motions, they had some wild spins and wrist movements as well, and they jiggled around all cartoon-like. And they're fast - I'm surprised that they could move so quickly. I realize they're essentially nailed to the ground, but their movements make me worry they're gonna fall over XD

It is a bit dated, though - it's definitely been succeeded by other technologies. But I like a little old-school tech/steampunk :)
