A question for the "collective conciousness": For quite some time, I've been buying various brands of bacon, ranging from "Bob's Bacon" to Schnieiders. I've just noticed that Schnieders Bacon is eerily uniform in is shape, size, and cut, whereas Bob's Bacon is very uneven, shapped differently, etc... and now I'm kinda wary of Schneider's practices. Their bacon can't be that perfect every time. (I'd really love to have a piece of bacon that has more meat than fat from time to time, too... wonder if it's possible...

Oh, anyone remember that pineapple plant that I planted back when I moved in, three years ago? I was looking at it recently (as I've been leaving it outside in the hot Toronto weather) and dicovered, while the original plant might be dng a bit, it's managed to make a pretty miraculous recovery - and now there's three pineapple plants growing, plus some unknown leafy plant growing in the pot! :D

What's the ECA? I'm not certain I understand what they're around for. Are they a competing business/nonprofit that wants to replace the ESRB? I saw this article regarding the Manhunt 2 re-review and I have to agree - not everything is rated out there.

Telecommuting has become a bit stranger, thanks to IvanAnywhere, a "robot" (kinda) that gives a physical presence to a telecommuter who lives in Halifax but works in Waterloo.

I just read that the English publisher of the Robot compilation is "not likely" to release volumes beyond volume 4, due to "licensing hell". >_< Geez, I should've picked up the Japanese Volume 6 while I was at CNAnime! O_o

Oooh, new Grow game - Grow Island!

My DS's speakers have conked out. O_o It still works fine with headphones plugged in, which is odd, but the speakers just crapped out on me. Christine got me a 2-year service plan from Future Shop - I wonder if I can get that fancy new Red/Black DSlite if they can't repair my Blue DSphat... (Really, everything is giving up the ghost these days! That TV is making everything else jealous!)

I'm pretty sure they won't give you the Red/Black Lite version to replace yours. It's only available through that stupid Brain Age 2 pack. And.... I dunno... It feels cheap. I don't like that lite... They only gave the top (the red) a finish, and the other parts, they gave it a kind of sticky matte finish. There's also some people who say they changed the LCD and it's not as good as the old lites.

I've noticed that they're planning on selling the Red/Black one separately soon, but I wonder what Future Shop would do since DSphats aren't available anymore. And the price of that bundle is about the price of the DS when Christine got mine... wouldn't mind getting a free game as well ;p

I'm really wondering what the difference is, light-wise... I can't find those comparison pictures anymore - but it's not like I was using a brighter setting or anything on the old one (because it didn't have any brighter settings) - but I wouldn't probably crank it past the 2nd brightness level anyways.

I'm tempted to e-mail Nintendo and ask them about repairs for the DS. But I could just walk into a Future Shop and see what they say, but then I might be DS-less for a week or two (and itching to play more Gyakuten Saiban 3)...
