I've not been in a mood recently to read, to post, or do a lot, mainly because I've been busy at work and busy after work, as well.

But I will tell you about the past few nights Christine and I have been to.

This past Wednesday, Christine and I were invited to go see the band that Dave just joined about 3 months ago, Nor Reason, a new prog-rock band. Go take a look at their MySpace page and give it a listen. I really enjoyed myself there, the music definitely spoke to me due to its style.

Thursday night, Christine and I joined [livejournal.com profile] hopping_v and [livejournal.com profile] redknot to see Electric Six at Lee's Palace. I've been there a couple of times, but never for a band that had a mosh pit. Electric Six came out at 11 and started playing, and the mosh pit soon followed. Christine had gone in after a few songs and I was a little apprehensive about going in, but it wasn't until they played one of the four songs I recognized, Gay Bar, that I was suddenly pushed into the mosh pit, along with everyone else who was standing on the sidelines.

It's fun being in the middle of a mosh pit. XD As the lead singer of E6 put it, there was pushing and shoving at the same time. XD I really got into the mosh when they played Dance Commander as part of their second encore. It was a lot of fun.

As the t-shirt reads that I picked up at the concert, I shall exterminate everything around me that restricts me from becoming one with Electric Six. XD

Here's some more light-hearted stuff for y'all:

Nathan Fillion's birthday is on the 27th! ;)

When I was at the Electric Six concert, Miguel mentioned that he created the pixel-art for the Crank mobile game, which was also used at the end of the credits. I did a quick search and found Crank Mobile. It's got a few wallpapers and ringtones as well - I'd really like the ringtone that Chev has as his ringtone, but I doubt my cellphone supports it. You can play a flash-based version of the game by clicking on the "comic-con game" link at the top. :)

While looking for the picture behind Ginny's icon in this post, I went looking for it on AlbinoBlackSheep, where I found this simple Missile-Command-style game called Boomshine. My best score is 260. That last stage is difficult! (The image from Ginny's post is from this edition of Super News! where Gates and Jobs square off.)

I may have linked this before, but I think that mentioning it again wouldn't be that bad: an isometric verion of the original Metroid.

Also, check out this incredibly cute little BeatBot. (Click on the text labelled "Keepon dancing to Spoon" under the video to see him bopping along to a song.) (Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ravenworks for this one.)

Aside from the movie, Aqua Teen Hunger Force is also getting a video game! I'm curious, since I love action-adventure combat golf cart-racing games. ;D

You know, I can't think of any Canadian who doesn't like the Tim Horton's Roll-Up The Rim To Win contest. I got a tea this morning after dropping off Christine and I noticed that they advertise how many prizes were won at that specific store, as well as stickers exclaiming that iPod Nanos were won there as well. Plus, now you can get muffins and cookies instead of donuts, and teas and "hot frosties" (a frothed hot drink of sorts) instead of coffees. Add to the fact that they also even keep tabs on how many of the big prizes have been won (and are displayed on their big-screen ad TV) and they seem to be very on-the-ball. (I haven't won anything yet, tho. :P)

Thanks for the little crank plug ;) I really need to update my website so my friends know what I've been up to.

That comic con flash version of the game was a super early beta type thing that was only shown at comic con. It's reaaaaly buggy. What I've seen of the final mobile game was much more polished.

The mobile game also has a myspace page with a trailer and pictures of all 4 levels:
