I've been sitting in front of a Tube Monitor for far too long. I found a monitor about - what, 5-6 months ago? - that was a nice 19" CRT, save for the slight burn-in (of whch I couldn't see unless the screen was bathed in white). I was excited to finally have a 19" monitor, and then I discovered that it was actually so big that the back-end of it wouldn't fit through the wood slats in the desk, so the monitor took up some insane real estate on my desktop.

Yesterday, Kinnon and I went out to Canada Computers and picked up a nice Samsung 932B, in black. It's purdy-like. ;P

Though, I have to say at least one thing. Why would a company give you a nice 19" LCD monitor and then provide you with a generic VGA cable, not even a DVI cable for an optimum result? I have to go out and buy a DVI cable, now...

Though, Christine found it entertaining that I went from grumbling about the lack of a DVI cable to "Oooh, a monitor wipe..."

The monitor sits so far back on my desk right now - I have a desk again! :D :P I'm finding it a bit of an eyestrain to look at the screen from such a distance, but I'm certain I'll get used to it. Maybe I should turn on "Large Fonts"... (yes, I'm old. :P)

...ew. Large Fonts just looks gross. O_o

...but Wow, Sam & Max looks absolutely vibrant. :D

Oh god. No large fonts.

No DVI Cable? Strange. Mine came with one... Must be cutbacks... Sorry, I didn't know that...

Hey, no worries. It doesn't mention it anywhere on the packaging. At least it came with a cable, though - unlike those new printers...

When I get the chance I'll pick one up. It looks amazing even now, but I can't imagine what it's gonna look like with the DVI cable. Actually, I'll probably be over by Canada Computers this evening.
