I haven't been online and reading LJ for a while! I have a lot of things to talk about! Here we go...
Those of you who have seen the Transformers Movie Trailer (yes, Kevin, I'm looking at you) have noticed that there is a text that reads "Sector Soven Org" in one of the screens with "takara83" at the bottom. Well, check out SectorSeven.org. I'll leave the rest up to you. ;)
Did anyone see that Jellyvision has started to release a daily You Don't Know Jack? I'm enjoying my daily dose... :)
I went looking to repair Christine's broken record player and one of the first items that came up on the serach was from a website called Weird Clip Art.
A little while ago, Kotaku linked to It's a Wonderful World. The gameplay style looks so cool, I have to admit I'm intruiged. :D
Tech geeks will love this one - a pair of guys did some "maintenance" on a "Chip & PIN" card reader (those debit-card swipe machines) to play Tetris.
A couple of nights ago, mom called me to note that CBC had aired its show The Greatest Canadian Invention. It was really fast-paced, hosted by Bob McDonald (of WonderStruck fame) and went through 50 inventions in two hours. It's on again this weekend (check the bottom of the homepage) and I'd recommend it. :)
What's been going on with me recently? Not much, really. We had a pleasant New Year's party at our place as Christine was feeling sickish (and still is, unfortunately) and all of our plans were reworked on December 31st at 6pm. *laughs* It worked out pretty well, actually. Ended up having 6 people in total and had a nice, quiet evening watching Beerfest and playing Wii Sports, snacking on chinese food.
My New Year's resolutions? I hadn't given it much thought until that night when Mike's cousin Dave brought it up. Traditionally there's three, so I have three:
1. I'm going to learn Japanese again. I lost all that I was taught back around Y2K, and unless I can find my old documents and binders, I'll be going in blind again. But I want to learn Japanese again and try to retain it.
2. Quit biting my nails. Yes, I still do this, and I hate myself for it, especially afterwards. I need to have something to occupy my hands with while I'm working.
3. I have an "idea board" in the kitchen that has at least 4 different ideas on it, all in varying stages of planning. While I'm not going to speak much of them right now, know that my resolution is to at least have one of these ideas physically realized (i.e. I'm going to make it) before the end of the year.
...I worked from 7am to 7pm on New Year's Eve and 7am to 7pm on New Year's Day, and went to sleep after the festivities ended around 3:00am. I was quite surprised that I got through the 2 12-hour-shift days following, but man did I do nothing else for the next two days. :P

Regarding that idea board: you know we're happy to be your guinea pigs! :P
