Sony E3 2006 Press Conference in one minute. Pay attention to the guy who is notknow that they pander to the fanboy.

When I went to E3 in... 2004, was it? The PSP was announced and we were told that we could see it in demo form on the show floor. They then proceeded to show us Spiderman on the PSP. Then you go over to the Nintendo one where they pull the DS out of their pocket and announce that you can play it on the show floor, compared to looped demos that you couldn't even touch on the Playstation side. And then they brought out the big guns and announced the newest Zelda game which will be coming out at the end of this year.

I had read an article a few days ago, I wonder if I'll be able to find it again. Someone recorded the ambient audio when the Super Smash Bros. Brawl trailer was at the Press Conference for this year. You could hear the whoops and amazement when certain elements were on-screen, like the newcomers to the game, and even the Nintendog. If only I had an audio clip of what the 2004 Press Conference sounded like when the new Zelda was announced, it was insane.

And yes, I'll admit to being part of the fanboys in the regard. :D

Super Smash Bros. Brawl wasn't announced at the conference. It was a display on day one of E3.

Brawl was also only in trailer form. Sony doesn't rely on first party stuff either, so it's a bit weird. They have no control on how 3rd parties make their announcements, only on how they do their hardware launch. It's different from the PSP year too, in that everyone was enamoured with the PSP because it looked great and felt great. DS never got traction until the two Catch! Touch! games came out with Nintendogs. Up until that point, DS and PSP were kinda neck and neck.
