Slashdot put up an article about a person who tore up his Credit Card application, then re-taped it together, put a different address and used his cellphone number for verification - and it got freaking approved. O_o
When I'm rather paranoid (which happens occasionally) I'll take rather sensitive information, tear it into tiny pieces, and then when I'm walking about (whether it be downtown or at work, or down the street) I'll throw a small smount of the paper into each trashcan I see. That's probably the easiest way to deter re-assembling any papers (short of burning them).
I'm putting this link here for myself to download some of these games when I get home, but here are the Finalists of the Independent Games Festival. All of a sudden I have this want to play Gish again, and I never linked to it, I'm really enjoying the factory-style gameplay of Rocknor's Donut Factory.
I have this feeling - have I mentioned this before? - I think that The 40-Year-Old Virgin was originally intended to be a TV series. I've noticed that a lot of the characters have bits and pieces revealed throughout the movie that were never fleshed out, such as Cal's writing projects, David's troubles with his ex, Trish and her sudden anger with telemarketers, and so on. I think a lot of the characters have a lot of details that almost get lost in the short span of two hours. Either that, or this movie was just very well-fleshed out. Also, since I've seen the trailer countless times, I've noticed that Nicky (the girl who gets drunk and drives) shows up in the Date-A-Palooza during the trailer ("You have kind eyes - you wanna get outta here?") instead of the women's party. There are parts in that trailer that weren't even in the extended version. Hrm. There was a lot of stuff in this movie, that I guess was shuffled around.
