I went looking for something to post today, and Gamespot came through with their e-mailing today.

You can download a demo of Half-Life 2 from them, and it weighs in at around 800MB. I figure my system can handle the file, but probably not the gameplay. :P I'm gonna give it a shot nonetheless. (I should probably burn a few - like, ten - CDs worth of anime off the drive anyhow...)

Also, checking their Rumour Control, there have been instances of the PSP in Japan ejecting the disc if the system is twisted slightly (hold steady with left hand, turn forward with right). Interesting...

In relation to news, there's also a report that EA has bought about 20% of UbiSoft, and Ubi isn't happy. EA snaps up companies like they were nothing... I'd prefer if Ubi wasn't under the EA heading.

Anyhow - Tonight I plan to clean up the place a bit. It's still got boxes piling up, so I think I'll toss a few boxes out, move a few things around, perhaps try to organize my DVDs and games, vacuum, clean up the flyers, put the recycling out, things like that. Kristy came over last night and we were causing havoc on each other's Animal Crossing towns, and then causing havoc with Wario Ware Mega Party Games. :D

I also discovered the "Firehouse Chili" that I made, while very difficult to eat as a meal, works incredibly well with tortilla chips. RAWK! (I can't find the place I originally found the recipe from, though...)

Heh. I was feeling less sick than I normally did when I woke up this morning, and I just realized I didn't have breakfast. Whoops. *munches on Nutrigrain*

Another thing I've found works really well to tame an excessively hot chili is to serve it about half and half with rice. (It also makes your batch of chili go twice as far, seeing as how rice is filling and costs basically nothing!)

I also heard a teaspoon of sugar can offset the spice of about a litre of chili, but I like your idea better. :)

Do you think the rice should be made/served on the side or added to the mix and allowed to cook with it?

The way I've always done it is to make the rice separately, then scoop some rice into a bowl and dump chili on top of it. (I like to grate some cheddar on top while it's all nice and hot so the cheddar melts, too)

Actually, I was thinking that as I was writing it. It sure seems to taste like it - I've been eating them with "Scoops" nachos. :D

Now all I need is some multi-coloured nachos, tonnes of cheese and a couple of condiments! :D
