I visited Kinnon today this evening, and we played a few games (Pikmin 2 and Mario Golf, which is actually tons of fun considering the sport :P), watched a few hours of great shows (Futurama and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex).

I ran into Richard from work on the way home. I'm starting to get my Dad's "Can't go anywhere without running into someone" syndrome. :P

I still haven't finished Pikmin 2 yet! The tricky part is getting 100 Purple Pikmin. Holding on to those guys is difficult.

I don't get it. I was with Kinnon today and he mentioned that Resident Evil 4 is going to be released on the PS2. 3 years ago, Capcom and Nintendo had agreed to continue the RE series as a GameCube Exclusive, and even re-released the older games on the GC (including an awesome graphic remake of the first game). Admittedly, the report notes that they released an online RE game on the PS2 (Resident Evil: Outbreak) a little while ago, which was the beginning of the deal falling apart, I guess. What's up with Nintendo and their deals? They sell off Rare, makers of Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, and Conker's Bad Fur Day, break off their deal with Silicon Knights (they haven't updated their website for the past 6 months...), and now Capcom is releasing RE4 on the PS2 (albeit about a year later, and I understand why they'd release it on the PS2 - it has the largest installed fanbase, and there was consumer demand for it...). I'm worried about Nintendo's reputation and staying power when they seem to lose all their exclusives... (What's next, Shigeru Miyamoto or Koji Kondo defecting to Micro$oft, Sony or *shudder* Nokia?)

In fishie news, it appears that I'm losing one of my Red-Eye tetras as he looks thin and isn't eating. And I still have that Blue Fancy Guppy, even through the Yellow Guppies keep following him around. I may have to get more Guppies to change the colour balance in the tank. But I wanted to post that I have a snail in the tank! :D I figure he came in with the plants, as snails typically leave their eggs on plants. He's a fast little bugger, too! (I should probably take the plants out of their "cages", but I don't want to risk disrupting their root system.)

And I'm up really late, so I'm getting some rest. G'nite!

When I read snail, I thought you meant snake ;) I used to have tropical watersnakes in my fishtank, well, really little, pink with dark pink spots and they didn't seem to have teeth ;)

Nonetheless they were on of the reasons I got too scared to clean my fishtank myself. They started out with 7cm's and ended up over twice the size ;)

Oooh, water snakes. I think I've seen the ones you mentioned. For algae cleaning, I'm fine with the Pleco, thanks... but mine is getting into the "huge size/won't die" category, it's clearly the largest fish in the tank and is about 7cm itself...

The snail is pretty small right now, only about 0.5cm, but man, does he ever move! :D

ACE COMBAT 5!!!

Welll... Rare was a great move... They've been shitty since they lost some personnel... And Silicon Knights leaving is probably more to do with Silicon Knights than Nintendo... After all, they did do the MGS translation which was a pretty big project. With Capcom though, that was a kind of stupid deal... For Capcom that is. It was great for Nintendo, but to do that exclusivity was to completely alienate their fanbase... Afterall, the Resident Evil series was born on a Sony machine... And Res Evil hasn't been selling too great for the Cube in Japan... I think Capcom realized their mistake and with RE4, they figured that they need to publish it on the PS2 as well, in order to make some money... I mean, it was supposed to be Dino Crisis for the XBox (who cares) and RE for Gamecube, and then Onimusha and Devil May Cry for the PS2... The writing was on the wall when Viewtiful was no longer a Gamecube exclusive...

Actually, I know that the SK move was Nintendo. I was on a short list for a composition gig there, but when Ninty failed to invest in the company, their expansion plans died with the deal. Hence my continuing search - which is ever closer to ending (I hope!)
