So here I am, finally deciding to make an entry. I should've gone to bed 30 40 mintes ago, but I promised. :P

Wrok today was very busy, especially since we just designed a new schedule and implemented it today. I still need to get things fixd and up-and-running perfectly for a while before I can relax again. I still have to take my 5 days off somewhere, anyhow. :P

I did a lot of stuff after work today. An associate got some plants and other fish for Lolek's fishtank, so I went to pick up some more gravel and fishfood (as the plants can't set root in a small amount of gravel, and all the other fish don't eat what Lolek eats). I also got more paint (so I can continue painting this week) and more things for the place, including a baking pan (as I had trays, but I can't make Banana Bread on that :P).

On the weekend, I did nothing condo-wise and had a good time socializing. I visited Dave for his Birthday Party, where there was much Bongo-beating (Don-Key Konga!), an awesome game of Cranium (still need to get Atmosfear), and then on a whim, we headed out and bowled for a couple of hours. Rob beat us all. XD

I remember my times from when I was in highschool in the bowling club - it was probably a very odd club at the time, but it was fun! And I really enjoyed myself at the Cosmic Bowling too - it was definitely worth it. :D

Sunday, I get up with The Fanboys and saw Teh_Gabriel! Gabriel Robert Servo Neville is Just. So. Cute! :D

I also had a nice Sunday dinner with the rest of my family, which is typically a family tradition. We've had problems in the past where we were working Sundays, but we're trying not to work on that day anymore so we can enjoy each other's company. And we're not that far away, either, which is nice.

Must stop by SuperPet and get 5 fish for $5. I want that deal. @_@ I also plan to visit Ikea on Thursday as I still need to get stuff like my own towels and juice jugs and things like that. (Anyone care to join me with that? I like Ikea, but it's so much more fun with people!)

It's odd. I haven't been turning on Trillian because I've been wandering around this place and so I didn't want to miss anyone, but also I've been feeling like I need some alone time. And yet, I have the need to want people to come over, but the place is a pure mess due to me painting so it wouldn't be any good. (I haven't even decided what colour I'm going to paint my bedroom, if at all.)

I will turn it on tomorrow. I'll make myself do it. Because I'm working the afternoon shift on Wednesday, so I can stay up a bit later on Tuesday evening (though I want to start painting in the morning on Wednesday, while I have light).

I need to start paying off my bills, but it would be nice if they took my mortgage and condo fees out of my bank account so I'm not waiting on pins-and-needles for them to take that money sitting in my account... Hm, that reminds me, I need to call my bank too. *jots down notes*

I was so close to getting all my debt recovered in Pikmin 2, but then I faced extermination in the underground. ;_; I'll try again...

Whoops, now an hour has passed. I should wrap this up. :P

JASON, DO NOT BUY ANY FISH TO GO IN LOLEK'S TANK. LOLEK WILL KILL THEM. HE'S A FIGHTING FISH, HE WILL ANNIHILATE ANY FISH YOU PUT IN THE TANK. PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS.

I'll e-mail you this message as well to make sure you don't make a colossal, deadly mistake!

WTF, dude, read up on this.

Fighting Fish ONLY FIGHT WITH THEIR OWN KIND. He's not a fucking pirahna. If we put other community fish in the tank, they'll get along.

Do a Google search on "fighting fish compatibility".

And I get these comments sent to me in e-mail anyhow.

Actually, he's right. I had a fighting fish in my regular tank for a while, and he bit the fins off of the other fish, and harassed the bottom feeders. It took me a while to realize what was happening, until I finally noticed him going after the other fish.

My experience with fighting fish is that they're happier alone. They're incredibly territorial. The only way they would be compatible with other fish is in a HUGE tank, like 50 - 100 gallons, because it gives the other fish plenty of room to get the hell away from them and hide.

So why did nobody tell me this BEFORE we had decided to get more fish?

They're not dead yet, so we'll adopt a wait-and-see about it.

I had a friend who used to breed betas (fighting fish) and the only problem she ever encountered with her fish (betas and their aquarium-mates) was that the other fish liked to pick on the betas O.o; very ironic. Apparently their pretty tails are quite tasty to smaller, cockier fish.

Either way I am glad that at least one beta out there is free from its teeny-tiny plastic cup in the petstore and is in a good home :)

Sorry I went ape, I just didn't want anyone to see a bloodbath. At a station that promotes inner peace and tranquility, I didn't think people wanted to have genocide. :p

forgiveness, please?

I wouldn't actually go to ikea to get things like towels and such. They aren't as well priced for the quality, whereas you can get much better at even walmart sometimes.

See you later!

WalMart? Really?

...Now that you mention it, I really liked the Martha Stewart towels we had at my parent's place... >,>
Tuesday, October 5th, 2004 06:27 am (UTC)
Yes! Wal-mart is awesome for such things!! Go to Wal-mart!! GO NOW!! *shakes fist*

See? I'm not alone in my anti-ikea-for-anyting-past-furniture-and-really-cool-shit stuff. :D

But yeah, the ikea towels I have aren't very good, while the walmart-sears ones are stellar. Plus walmart has a much better selection of jugs, etc. So does Zellers, which I definitely recommend.

I wish I could spell. :P

Wal-Mart is also good for yarn! LOTS OF YARN!!

We got a buttload of Martha Stewart towels during the Mad Gift Rush in June. They frigging RULE, but are quite pricey I am led to understand.

I'm still trying to get the new Atmosfear. (It will be mine. Oh yes.)

I really really really wanna play it too! :D
