The thought of falling in love with an android crossed my mind this morning. :P Just casually washing dishes and suddenly thinking about how they assist us, and how things might be better if the computers only assisted us and not actually did the work (for example, the thought came up that a robot could identify the places that still needed to be painted, while we do the actual painting), and my mind floated to Chobits which lead to the "Yeah, I guess I could fall in love with something like Chii...." XD

(Like that wasn't obvious already XD XD XD)

The move went smoothly, and the essentials are set up - the entertainment rack, the bed, the computer, the kitchen - in that order. :P More information will follow when I finally get the Internet in my condo, as I am writing a log on the computer at home. That will be a very lengthy post. Maybe I should just put it into my USB key and then dump it when I get to work.

Anyhow, I must call lots of people and get my address changed and see if I can get a rush on the Internet and all that. Ciao! (That's Eye-talian for food!)

I dunno. To me, that's always been kinda creepy. An android or robot just seems kinda odd. In the same way why so many fans love Rei because she's got a very "loyal", or rather subservient personality, it's that kind of thing that I don't know how much I could ever appreciate. From a critical look, I don't like it because it means you don't really have to effort a relationship. They'll be there with you because they are programmed that way (either artificially, or just naturally). I'm not saying I'm going into relationships looking for conflict, but just that a relationship should require work, if only because both people become better people by becoming close to each other... Not to mention you appreciate those things that you work for a lot more.

Anyways, hope we didn't damage too many things :p

You've definitely got a good point there. Can andorids/robots truely develop feelings? Probably not. Someone's programmed emotions into them, and for them to be able to love, hate, or act on their own volition is not exactly free will at all. It's all based on the programming.

It truely can't be acting on its own - Artificial Intelligence is just that - Artificial. It just looks genuine. But it's truly nothing more than a user-friendly program.

Life, and living together, would be too easy if people fell in love with robots.

And I haven't found any damage yet, so you're safe -- for now :P
