What a great day! Ginny and I headed over to Whittamore's to pick a couple litres worth of strawberries, and grab a few handfuls of snowpeas and green peas. It had rained early in the morning, but by the time Ginny came over it was bright and sunny - and by the time were out there it was HOT.
We grabbed some ice-cream tubs full of strawberries (gotta love the price, $3 for 2L versus those little packages!) and headed back home. Ginny is a good baker, too! We made a delicious Strawberry pie (no Rhubarb) with a nice, flaky, pastry. (This recipe is the one we used - it turned out awesomely!)
We watched an episode of Monty Python while pie stuff was setting up (chilling the pastry, cooking) a couple of episodes of Key The Metal Idol, and then watched a HUGE thunderstorm during dinnertime. That was a torrential downpour, that was. And all I could think was "Well, there's goes our satellite signal". XD
As for raspberries, which will happen, the plan is to go out in2 weeks 3 weeks from today. I'm not going to be in-town the weekend of July 17-18 (going to the cottage), and that's when the raspberries should be ready. So we'll go the next weekend! (The day after the Reception, of course.)

Back to the grind tomorrow... man, with 3 days off it's gonna be one of those "blah" days tomorrow...
