I just discovered why The Tick Animated series isn't on DVD yet.

It appears that Buena Vista (yes, Disney) picked up all of Akom Production's series - including the animated series - in a mass acquisition.

This means one of many things:
- Disney is waiting to see how well the Live-Action The Tick sales go (that's owned by Columbia-Tristar)
- Disney doesn't know they have it (God forbid!)
- Disney is silently sitting on it, knowing they have it, and releasing all their stuff instead (we all know Disney doesn't like anything animated, except its own kind :P)

I say it's the third option. Although one is also plausible - 'cause Disney surely isn't above piggy-backing on the success of someone else! But I'll bet they have someone in an attic somewhere up all night, going over the ledger of what they own, rubbing his hands and cackling "Mine, all mine!" Then again, the flaw in the third option is that by sitting on it, they're not making money off it...

Hm? What, me cynical? pshaw!
