Well, here we are in 2004. Doesn't feel any different. (No duh, it's like celebrating your birthday - you're only a day older than you were yesterday, and since you're right there with it, you don't notice it. If the year walked away for a month or so and came back as The New 2004, maybe we'd notice it.)
Happy New Year, everyone!
So, as my schedule dictated, I was working. :\ I left my Chat Programs open tho and talked to a couple of the Fanboyz while I worked. I left around 11:00 and headed over to "The 360", and hung out with Emily, Ering, James, and Shannon for a mass of rockin' bands. We counted down to New Year's as everyone did in the respective Time Zone, and had a whooping good time. :)
Em and I left shortly afterwards so she could get home - we walked a fair deal past several large groups to get back to my car (I was very thankful I parked my car where I did - it was cheap, and the parking lot across the street from where I work was $20 flat rate. Thankfully I never park there. - Yet somehow people were still parking there anyhow!)
We hung out for a while, and I eventually went home rather tired at around 3am. I got home about 2 minutes before my parents did (they went to a New Year's Party, too) and totally passed out when my head hit the pillow. I'm certain I didn't even get comfy before I was out.
No phone call from S+L today at 7:30! Whee! I really should trust the new Freelancers more, they're quite studious. Is that the right word? They did call around 11:30, but I was already awake, no biggie.
Hm, there were plans for a brunch or something today with Kev, Mel, Phil, and Emily. I wonder if they're all still passed-out? I dare not call them for fear of the dreaded Hangover Goblins getting to them. If any of you are reading this, get back to me! Call me at work if you have to! (I'll be there at 3:30). Can we do dinner? I can leave the station for a while!
I don't know if I have any New Year's Resolutions this year. I can't even remember if I had any last year. If I had one about losing weight, I might have actually succeeded, even if I can't remember if I actually had told myself I would. :))
EDIT: Chaos's journal mentions Fromage 2003. I want to see the Cheesiest Music Videos of 2003! :D
~~
On a side note, I've been thinking about doing this and seeing how well it spreads through the LJ community. This is the best time to do it, being New Year's and all. (I've always wanted to see something that I've created become popular. C'mon! Help a guy out! :P)
Look back through your LiveJournal. What were you doing exactly one year from today? What did you post about? Paste either a portion of your Journal, or link to the day, and comment on it.
I really didn't have much to say other than ramblings. Here's something I grabbed from January 1, 2003:
The word "neither" - do you pronounce it "nee-ther" or "nai-ther"?
I pronounce it "nee-ther", I think... I'll have to wait until I say it in conversation and not be focusing on it. This is similar to that "What word do you use to describe..." list that was passed around awhile ago.
And another one, this time a link to my Journal - December 28th, 2002. Most notable is this about my car!
Tomorrow I go to the car dealership to sit in the car. I still haven't decided if I want/need the car, but for the past week I've only had it one day. After a few days of taking the bus (because it's snowing and my Dad can't drive his mid-life crisis) it becomes annoying. But is it worth spending 1/4 of my salary for it?
I'd say it was definitely worth it. *hugs his Amaterasu*
