I went and had a cup of coffee with an old friend of mine from back in high school, Christine.
She seems to be doing rather well, and we talked a bit about moving, and her job, and what she's hoping to do in the future. She's been volunteering her time at CIUT (U of T's Student-run Radio Station), and she's hoping to move out of that eventually.
She's also working at Sunnybrook, but she's starting to tire of it, too...
We actually were discussing how our parents moved out by the time they were 25 or so (she's turning 24 in 3 days), but when you look back 25 years ago, things were so culturally different then that it was normal to move out, and people were ...I wouldn't say "happily ignorant" due to the wars, but trying to focus on the positives, but even then, compare the 1970s to the 1950s, and the 1950s to the 1920s, and even those generation gaps have major changes.
Deciding against a condo and maybe moving in with a few other friends seems to be a good choice these days - just have 4 people living together, sharing a whole house, and paying rent equally. Once everyone parts ways, someone can take over the lease on the house. *shrug*
Off to work! I gotta leave early or else I'm late... again. :|
