Well, the meeting was uneventful, really. Thankfully the schedule isn't being changed.
I had parked my car on the street and put in enough money to last an hour - midway through the meeting I was getting antsy, 'cause I knew that the time had run out on the meter. Thanks to Erich, I managed to get out and RAN to my car... and a policeman was writing up a ticket, looking at my license plate --
O.O!!!!
So, asking him if I drove off, would I still be charged? And after a few seconds of hesistation he said "If you run away, you're good."
So, I drove off and parked it in the parking lot I always do on afternoons. Whew!
I still wasn't certain I was safe, tho, so on the way back I asked another police officer (and later called one on the Non-Emergency Parking Line, after the meeting was finished) and they both agreed that if I drove away before the officer had placed the ticket on the windshield, it's good. *sigh* lucky me!
A minute later and I would've had ANOTHER damn fine.
*considers visiting the ImPark and buying a monthly parking pass* - that would definitely give me peace of mind.
EDIT: Murrr. A Monthly Parking Pass - aside from costing $115 total ($115 divided by 22 working days = $5.25, a quarter less a day) - has to be purchased for a minimum of 2 months. Had I known that I might've bought a parking pass a while ago. :\
