Well, At least I've managed to get half of Seanna's computer functional. :\ I bought 128MB of RAM for her comp - I don't see any increase in performance, but no doubt it'll be better than 32MB on Win98.
Future Shop was ... typical. Went to the Computer Counter and asked the guy to buy some memory - I had to tell him it was a Pentium 233MMX, with "84-pin" connectors. (Whoops, my error, there's 84 pins on one side, so it's actually a 168-pin.) He called the Tech guys (the Computer Repair guys), who didn't answer, so I walked over there (they will install RAM for $25 O.o).
I told them I have a "Compaq 233..." and they cut me off there, telling me I needed "specially-approved" memory for Compaqs. They hand me a business card for some company in Newmarket that sells special RAM.
Screw that, I walk back over to the Computer Desk and say "I think Tech Support doesn't know what they're talking about, can I see some of the memory you sell?" They pull out a 128MB chip, exactly like the sketch I drew (to scale). "If it doesn't work, I can bring it back, right?" "Yep".
So, it works. This is why I'm glad I know enough about computers. Why the hard drive doesn't work is beyond me...
I'm helping Em fax some stuff out tonight for her move. I wonder where I left my Majestic faxes? ^_^

I've noticed that upper-case and lower-case make differences... "Tamakun" and I'm Patrick Swayze, but tamakun and I'm Abe Vigoda.
