Apparently dipping your teabag (as opposed to just letting it sit there and steep) adds more antioxidants to it, making it better for your immune system. How, I have no idea...
Huh? Oh yeah! The concert. XD
Yu guys all made me feel so guilty for going because I happened to have a ticket. ;_; I wish you all could've come with me, 'cause it's always more fun with more than one person. (Dude, it's like Voltron - the more you can hook up, the better it gets.)
I ended up getting there around 5:00. The TTC was awesome - their shuttle service was unsurpassed. And the bus driver made a joke about hotboxing the bus so that the marijuana wouldn't be confiscated at the gates XD He also made a comment about how Justin Timerlake must've paid a good amount of coin to sing a duet with Mick Jagger...
Here's the bands I remember, and the songs that they played (that I remember):
Blue Rodeo were just finishing up with Hasn't Hit Me Yet as I made my first little "walk" through the whole thing. Really cramped in there, but what can you expect with just under half a million people? XD
First off I saw Jim Belushi and Dan Aykroyd playing the Blues, followed by a ... CF-13 bomber passing overhead? I can't remember its codename. (I like to call it the Warthog.)
The Guess Who were one of the first bands that I saw there. And since I had sen them in concert recently for my Dad's birthday last year, I remembered a number of their songs (Mother Nature/No Sugar Tonight being my favorite currently stuck in my head). What I should do is grab my Dad's collection of CDs of them and listen to them... I know I like their music :)
As Emily had mentioned, The Tea Party were there, and they did their cover of "Paint it Black" which I wasn't able to see, but when Rush was on-stage, they had a quick instrumental of it, as well. ^_^ They had a good couple of tunes - I'll definitely have to go hunting for it sometime.
Justin Timberlake was there next - admittedly I liked the music, but that doesn't include his singing. *dodges water bottles thrown at me* Apparently he almost got hit with a couple of water bottles XD (I've just been told that he was in good spirits about it - he said "If I was here to see the Stones, I wouldn't want to hear Me.")
I vaguely remember DJ Z*TR1P mixing some tunes for a short while, all of them retro 80's tunes - even Teenage Wasteland (which was also played at Blue Man Group's concert)...
At this point, I happened to run into a small group from S+L and I joined them in worming my way through the crowd to a fairly close area. I'd guess I was maybe 100-200 feet away from the stage - I could actually SEE the bands as opposed to watching the screens, but the screens were a better view anyhow, so I watched them ^_^
AC/DC completely floored me. Even after so many years (what has it been, 25 years?) They rocked the place. Angus got the biggest applause in the whole venue when he took off his pants - he was wearing Canada-flag boxers XD I will definitely be looking for some of their songs... they got the place totally pumped. :D Most notable: Hell's Bells and You Shook Me All Night Long. They had the audience singing to that one. ^_^ I think they also did Back in Black, and I'm sure they did She's Got The Jack.
The Rolling Stones were the big draw, of course, and they went on around 10:00 at night. They had a number of "Greatest Hits" which included Start Me Up, Brown Sugar, Sympathy for the Devil, You Can't Always Get What You Want, and Ruby Tuesday. Would you believe it if I told you they didn't play Paint it Black? O.o
And again, a quick busride back. I had to scoot underneath a fence 'cause I mistakenly took the wrong way out, but other people were so friendly there, holding the fence open! Plus, we got fireworks uopn leaving ^_^ It took half an hour for me to get home. ^_^
AC/DC was my high point for the night. Being close to them, hearing their songs exactly the same way they sung them 25 years ago, and hearing it the way it was meant to be heard (in a concert setting), was just awesome... even if it was a bit... *cough* smoky ;)
