Eeps, I have to catch up on stuff... :\

Time Opened LiveJournal: 3:40pm

reads Friends Livejournals... finished: 5:26

O.o

So, I had an incredible time up in Nippissing. I got up there on Friday after work (left around 3:15, got there for 7:00 - Dad always speeds), and had a wonderful time seeing all my little cousins (although, at times, they don't notice I'm reading Harry Potter and they seem to NEED to talk to me)...

I slept out in the Living Room. We have a bed there - it's not the most comfortable bed in the cottage - none of them are - but it's in the room with the fireplace - it's very comforting that way ^_^

Saturday - I remember that we managed to fly the kite, as well as took a swim in the lake there... very crisp (i.e. Cold). It's been two years since I've been there, so things had changed - we had repainted the front porch to a dusty sandish colour, the dock's on the verge of floating away so we're working on building a new one, there was a rabid racoon on the island O_o

Blueberries abound! Somehow the entire island was covered in blueberries! Needless to say, we had tons of blueberries in all our foods - well, most of them, anyhow. Hamburgers don't need blueberries. XD

Saturday night, Mom, Dad and I played a round of "Wizard", a card game. The rulesheet was missing, so we had to work out the rules judging from previous player's games left behind. After about 20 minutes of loud voices over each other (between me and Dad), we eventually got to an agreement which worked out. I came in third XD

Sunday, Dad went home, and the kids were still up in Sudbury, so Mom and I had the cottage to ourselves - It was VERY nice to be able to just relax and not worry about anything. ^_^

Monday - we flew the kite (slight damage incurred), and had a small swim. Finally finished the Harry Potter book. ;_; Need more... I made s'mores for everyone last night, too! Using the heat from the barbeque and the leftover chocolate (including some York Peppermint Patties), I made up a wonderful batch of s'mores. ^_^

Oh yeah, the children wanted to have a camp-out night, too. This was the strange bit - if we ever let Jake out of the cottage, he would tear off into the forest, and we would find him, standing right in front of the tent! The tent's buried in the midst of the forest, and it was kinda strange - we don't know WHY he did that, either. Mom's going to ask a Dog Psychiatrist about it. ^_^

Speaking of Dog Psychology, my Aunt Barb had brought up their new pet, Jenna. It was a 4-month old dog that looked like a muppet when it tried to get up on any surface (which it was not allowed), and looked like a shag throwrug when sleeping XD - Jake was not happy about this - whenever Jenna went to someone for attention, Jake would be right behind her, because he was feeling neglected... poor guy. ^_^ He's probably much happier to be home. How could I get a cat if Jake feels jealous of another dog? O.o

Tuesday - we packed up and headed out. We planned to leave around 9 but since I slept until 9:30 or so (had a restless sleep last night), we ended up leaving with Jake around 11:00ish.

I saw an awesome license plate recently: IAMCAN8EN. ^_^

Aside from a very cool-looking Ultronia Underwing moth that we saw one late night on our screens, we also had a hummingbird. They are so cute, perching on the hummingbird feeder and taking long gulps from the feeder we had... it was so cute. ^_^ I want to get a feeder so that we can attract hummingbirds - I love looking at them. They're so tiny and hyper....
