*blink blink* How'd I get here (work)? Yesterday was Canada Day, and I decided that since my body had fallen asleep at 5:00am the morning before, that I'd be fine to stay up later last night to watch fireworks.
Short story - I saw the fireworks, which rocked, and ended up falling asleep around 2:00, and woke up at 5:00am. And I'm here now, somehow.
Long story - Being the last day before I started work, I had decided to bum around the house yesterday. I think my computer's finally virus-free, as there's no warnings popping up. O.o;; Picking up Emily and Jen before going to Chris and Ysa's (still can't pronounce her name correctly, gomen!~), we had a mini-Gathering there. There was Me, Emily, Jen, Chris, Ysa, Roupen, Maral, Burn, and Vampy (sorry you two, I don't remember your real names, if I was ever told them O.o). They had been productive today as they had been cooking jams and the containers were still hot to the touch. ^_^
After a quick chow-down on Chicken Nuggets shaped like stars and rocketships, we proceeded to wander out to the park behind the apartment and find a nice place to see the fireworks. We found a nice balcony-like cliff where we set up our blankets and torches.
Once it got dark enough, the fireworks began. There were some really incredible fireworks that I had never seen before - "dragons" (bright-white light with screeching and spinning), rings (they exploded in a circle, as opposed to random), "clowns" (red, blue, green, white, and purple... basically looking like a scattering of polka dots)... there was an awesome firework waterfall and some really nice streams that lasted for like a minute in the air... the finale had tons of loud "poppers" that shook the ground slightly. :) I was really impressed.
Following the fireworks, we walked/ran over to the carnival/fair that was nearby, and got on a couple of the rides. We went on the "Cobra" (a set of chairs spinning around like a Merry-Go-Round, attached to arms that were also spinning around), and the Tilt-A-Whirl. The high point of that was Emily singing along to the music on the Cobra, then *whooom* it speeds up... Em starts singing louder XD Sadly, the Midway closed after that. :\ I should've played some carnival games. :P
We returned back to the apartment and cooking began on the Strawberry and Rhubarb Pie and Strawberry Crumble. I had a generous helping of the Crumble but had to leave before the pie was served, as by that time it was somewhere around 1:00am. O.o I hope it was good!
So, here I am, somehow survivng on 3 hours of sleep and a tea infusion.
I had a great time! I really like having these impromptu gatherings. I can't even remember half of the stuff we talked about (It mustn't have been important, then - just kidding!), but there was much laughter. Skeletor, you made me do some coke! at the fireworks, and us watching Rejected again... and us just spouting off Red vs Blue quotes again...
-You see these two tow hooks? They look like tusks. Now what kind of animal has tusks?
-...A Walrus.
-Didn't I just tell you to stop making up animals?
-Simmons, I want you to poison Grif's next meal.
-Yes Sir!
My cheeks hurt from the laughter XD
Chris cannot tell a story without having some humour in it, even when it's deathly serious. And when the story itself if humourous as all heck, it's even worse. XD
Someone mentioned a ... Drag Day was it? o.o;; Everyone wears the opposite gender's clothes. What was that about? (When that discussion came up, it was noted that I'm the only guy with short hair - all the other guys there had at least shoulder-length hair...) How can I be Bish if I have short hair? XD
I need to eat. I haven't had breakfast yet, I was so late. *tummy rumbles*
A Parish from Mississauga was at the Pope's General Audience today! ^_^
