Uh-oh. I think my oven/stove's on its way out. ><
A week or so ago (when I had pondered aloud that I would have chicken for dinner) I turned on my stove to preheat, walked off for 20 minutes, and returned - to a cold stove. O.O I pulled it out from the wall and checked behind, it's wired directly into the wall (again, O.O That's gonna be interesting to fix if I need to replace the stove), but I tinkered with the "clock" timer-thingy and then tested the oven dial again - this time the light came on. I just didn't notice it when I first turned it on.
Last night I had plugged in the Crock Pot (into the stove) and turned it on for my soup/stew concoction (I call a lot of my experiments 'concoctions', including mixing Peanut Butter & Jam together before applying it to bread), and this morning the soup had not even moved. Still cold. O.O Again, the oven didn't work, either, so I fiddled with the timer and got the oven to work again - and then the Crock Pot worked by the time I left.
I could pay for a new stove right now, yes, but after typing this out I've realized that perhaps the built-in timer is being wonky. I'll have to experiment more with that, since it's ineffective to test the stove every 30 minutes. I wonder if I can figure out another way.
And while buying a new stove (and maybe a better fridge) is on my list of things to do, it's not at the top of my list - paying off my Line of Credit debt was the first thing, and that won't be clear for another year, and then the stove was after that, when I had some extra disposable income.
Well, if it works, it works. It's not like the heating elements are cracking or anything.

I forgot to mention that I had hot Bubble Tea recently. Wow! :D Taro-flavoured hot milk tea - with bubbles! It was so tasty. :D
I have to try Taro slush now. ^_^
