Both This Hour Has 22 Minutes and Rick Mercer's Monday Report had parodies on the Movie Piracy video that you see at the beginning of every movie you go see in the theatres. 22's version was about some Canadian CG guy who was requesting viewers to "Download Canadian Films - We could use the audience" (including the Anti-Piracy Video featuring the guy so people know he worked on stuff), while Monday Report's was a thinly-veiled rant about how we just paid $9 to go see a movie, supporting the film industry, and they have the nerve to play the Anti-Piracy Video in the front of all of the movies regardless.

I'm really starting to like CBC's Monday Lineup. :D

Woah. Doonesbury has put up US$10,000 to see if anyone can prove that George Bush served in the Alabama National Guard. O.o I like Doonesbury and all, I'm just concerned the guy will get in trouble for trying to debunk the President of the USA. (Come to think of it, Doonesbury used the word "masturbation" recently and that comic was banned in hundreds of newspapers. Not the Sun, tho. :P I guess he's looking to stir-up some news for himself.)

When you're got a Parappa the Rapper 2 song stuck in your head, and said song is the LOADING screen music, that says something about the game, huh? :|

I checked out Active Surplus yesterday for Gears - seems they're renovating the place. 2/3rds of the place is inaccessible. In any case, I found metal gears (not the style I was looking for, however) and plastic gears (which would suit my purpose perfectly, but I might repaint them so they're not tinker-toy coloured). Now I should probably do some design before purchasing the stuff, like maybe think about what the gear layout would look like, and what am I gonna affix the metal rods to? What would be the slowest motor I could get? The motors that are used in RC cars and stuff are too much. I don't need 300rpm, I only need something like 60rpm. I want the gears to be turning slowly. I could bring down the speed a bit with a small-gear-large gear system, but I don't want the motor burning out from overuse. Is there a stepper somewhere I could get to slow the motor down?

I saw a wonderful graffiti a couple of days ago. It said "POST NO BILLS", and to its immediate left and right were spray-paint images of Bill Clinton, Bill Cosby, Bill Gates, and Bill Murray. ;)

It seems that I didn't get B3ta's last newsletter, so I've gone to their archives. Here's what I've culled from it this week...

I always had thought about buying a posterboard, putting a happy face on it and writing "SMILE!". No advertising, just a Happy Poster. Someone's done it here, and since it just involves smaller pieces of paper, it's more feasible. ^_^

Here's a list of do's and don'ts when stealing people's lighters.

There was a "Top Tip" where it says that if you've dropped a can of Cola, you could tap it twice on the bottom and then flip it upwards slowly, and it shouldn't explode when you opened it. Someone decided to test this out, with a Cola Ninja. The Ninja is cool. XD
