I wonder what the Origins of Applause are? How did they invent "clapping" to say "that was awesome!"?

Resurrection: I didn't believe it in the 19th Century, and I don't believe it now.

I believe if I could pull out my inner child, I'd lose 65 pounds.

There was something featured on TechTV's "Fresh Gear" a few weeks back, called the "Water Bronx" or something like that. It was a giant, inflatible decagon-shaped item that you walked on - like like a giant hamster ball for the water. It looked awesome. Does anyone know of the true name of it?

I found a copy of "Twitch" at Second Hand Games. Now, is it worth the $15US to get it shipped over here? Hmmm...

A few weeks ago, my wrists were hurting - not a good sign when I was in front of the computer all day. I looked up the gyroscopic mouses (a wireless mouse that you can wave in the air to move the cursor on-screen) to see if they helped or further strained the wrists from RSI, and came upon Powerballs. They sell these at ThinkGeek, too. A friend at work says he has a friend who has one... I may have to borrow it someday and check it out.

I got an e-mail from Ubisoft today regarding URU: Ages of Myst. I guess they're finally out of Beta Testing. (Judging from the span of this game, it actually surprises me that they have been testing this for a long time - but then again, they had a HUGE fiasco with Myst III: Exile not working correctly, so this long duration of waiting is a good thing). Here's an offer that if you pre-order URU: Ages of Myst, you get a Collector's Edition DVD with Myst, Riven, Myst III and an interview with the creator of Myst.

(Come to think of it, Nintendo's got a new Zelda Collector's Edition coming out, too... which contains The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: The Adventures of Link, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and a Wind Waker Demo. The only game I don't already have on that list is Zelda II. I have Zelda I on my GC in Animal Crossing...)

If I was in advertising, I would create a car-flyer that looked like a parking ticket - that way, people would see it, panic, and then read it. Or they'd refuse to purchase the item/services because it infuriated them :P But it'd still grab attention, and that's what advertising is all about. (Unless there's a problem with making a lfyer look like a parking ticket... then, I'd just make it the same shape and colour.)

Here's an H2G2 entry on Squonks, mythical animals what apparently will, if threatened, will cry themselves into bubbles and tears.

And because I have friends who are not Fanboys and I love to show them everything I see... ok, well, maybe not EVERYTHING but still... here's Project Euh? (I particularily like the curved scrollbar. ^_^)

*spends the next 30 minutes on Project Euh?*

And one more link. Since I'm still kinda obsessed with that song from the "Doorsteps" link I posted yesterday (the song is called Most Annoying Show You've Ever Seen, and the Flash video can be found here), I found the band's webpage. There's not much on Lodger's site yet, but at least I know where to look for info.

And remember, "It's better to have gifts than receipts".

Why is it that whenever it rains, I think it's going to wash my car, but in fact, all it does is add a thin layer of chemicals and dirt when it dries?

I heard on the radio today that we're "Flirting with Flurries". We may have snow by this weekend. O_O

Hm, looking at the Whittamore's Daily Update, they've closed the Pick-Your-Own - I guess the Fall Raspberries were early this year.

As well, I've been asked to work a weekend - and for the life of me can't remember what weekend it was, whether it was this weekend, or the next. >_< I think it's this weekend, and the shift are Afternoon shifts, so I can still attend UR (I could actually be there for the whole showing), and a trip to Whittamore's isn't out of the question - only as long as we went early (like, 10 or 11, and only for an hour or two).

However, if it's the following week... >,> I don't want to miss the Fanboys Hallowe'en. *goes and makes phone call*

EDIT: Hm. It is next weekend. I'm going to try to work something out.
