Technical Support is AWESOME!
The guy, Shawn (I'm writing down his name in case they call with a question about Service), seemed to know exactly what the problem was. He said he had never run into a situation like mine, but he walked me through a couple of pages and BAM! It's working it's sweet self again. :D
Apparently when @Home closed down they disconnected the Proxy Server and therefore my system was still trying to communicate with it. Now that the Cable company is acting independently, it's not needed, and therefore it works, as smooth as silk. :)
I have to apologize to anyone who got freaked out by my post... But right now I'm so happy - on the completely opposite site of the spectrum that I was on last night.
