So for those of you who have their finger on the pulse of the internet, three months ago a little title was released: Five Nights at Freddy's. It's where you work as a security guard at a Chuck E. Cheese-like place where the animatronics are allowed to wander at night, and you have to prevent them from catching you.
The game was incredibly popular with Let's Players due to the jumpscares and the reaction videos.
I typically can't play these games. I hate jumpscares. However, this game has a lot of backstory which is slowly doled out to you through occasional newspaper clippings... it's very difficult to notice on the first playthrough, but a lot of eagle-eye players saw a story about 5 kids who went missing at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, and the place was shut down shortly thereafter for "mucus and odor emanating from the animatronics".
Around the time that this game was released, I had just come off of a 18-hour high of playing video games for Extra Life, a charity for hospitals all across North America. I hadn't hit my goal so I decided - hey, why don't I play this scary game and ask for donations if people liked it?
As such! I played the first one. Be forewarned, this game is creepy and has a couple of jumpscares -- but I have added annotations so that if you need a little warning, there are warnings! ::)
Here's my first run at Five Nights at Freddy's (with a cameo from the wife and a not-so-great video quality):
And then three months after the first game came out, the sequel was released! And so, on Day One I recorded myself playing it completely not knowing what to expect.
Here's Five Nights at Freddy's 2 (now with more editing!):
I figured that I'd put this here because I want to spread these videos as far and wide as possible, and I'm certain some people will get a kick out of me screaming like a little girl. A friend has asked me if I was going to try again and really, I think I will soon! And if you're interested in donating, feel free to at the following link!
