So, it's about time that I get through this and let people know what I got for Christmas. I think with this year being very work-focused I didn't really have a lot of external interests, but even so I really appreciate everything that people gave to me. I hope that everyone appreciates what I gave them, as well. :)

First off, Christine got me a couple of books I had my eye on, due to the authors behind them - The Nerdist Way (by Chris Hardwick) is a book that helps you level up, in real life. It's a book that outlines how to improve yourself through using "The Nerdist Way" - that is, the fact that nerds have focus and determination. All we need to do is refocus the "brain laser" on other aspects of our life. Speaking of focus, the other book she got me was The Toaster Project, a book that asks the question "if civilization were to crumble tomorrow, what would it take to remake a £4 toaster from scratch?" The trick here is that he didn't go and buy any of the components - he learned how the different elements worked, then went and found the metal ore and smelted it himself. This man was insane but the interview on the Colbert Report (here for you US viewers, Canucks, it's the Nov.14th episode from last year) really showed the enthusiasm and dedication he had for the concept.

Christine also got me a pair of DVD sets - one for The Weird Al Show (wherein Weird Al and his crew had to make his show educational, the commentary is very enlightening ^^), as well as the Weird Al Video Collection (which is just an awesome collection of his videos, including some ancient ones such as "I Love Rocky Road" :D)
Christine also got me a pair of really awesome-looking T-Shirts! Here's a video...

I also got a few items from my family: a Blu-Ray Burner for my computer (to offload the Terabyte of data on my Torrents drive - now I need some BDR media :P), Transformers: War on Cybertron (and this game is fun to play, just to hear the old voice actors again), and
new headphones! My old ones were totally on the way out, with the wire doing that "certain positions makes the left speaker die" so these new ones, with noise-cancelling, are very, very nice and comfortable :D I also got a Murphy's Law calendar, which has already given me Milroy's law: All machines have an innate sense of irresponsibility.

Then, a couple of weeks ago Steam started their yearly Winter Sale, which ended up with me trading gifts back-and-forth amongst many people:
Humble Indie Bundle 4 (from Blastgoggles)
Greed Corp (from [livejournal.com profile] kinnonyee)
Left 4 Dead & Left 4 Dead 2 (from [livejournal.com profile] sierralad)
Space Channel 5: Part 2 (also from [livejournal.com profile] sierralad, but I have to ask, where did Part 1 go? Why is is not available for sale?)
Plain Sight (from DJ Sylvis)
Saints Row 2 (from [livejournal.com profile] ravenworks)
MDK2 (from [livejournal.com profile] bassbeast, on the Wii... that thing needs to be dusted off from time to time!)

I also grabbed a BluRay Player during Boxing Week (Scott Pilgrim is our only BluRay we had at the time, but wow, how did we go without Hi-Def all this time?) and Dance Central 2 since it was a good price. I still haven't even unwrapped it. So much for me buying new games until I get through some old ones - but now, I have much more to play through! (And I still need to clear more space to even install some of these games...)
