So, here's a bunch of tabs in my Desktop that I've been meaning to talk about.

- In case you hadn't heard, I'm going to be at COBS Leaside until at least the end of the year now. Plans were for me to only be there for 2 weeks, which would be ending as of this coming Wednesday, but they're holding onto me at Leaside for a little while longer to sort out everything. The store is definitely busier since it's been around for over 4 years now, so I'm seeing some numbers that the Beaches has never reached, but I'm getting used to it. The place is already starting to look better with the things I've implemented from The Beaches.

- The battery in my ancient Dell laptop has pretty much given up. It was a brand-new Dell battery which I purchased a year ago. I'm pretty bummed about its lifespan, but really, this is one of those "parts" that isn't part of the warranty. 12 months was nice, but really? Only a year's worth of service? Back to plugging in the laptop wherever I go...

- While I was organizing my MP3 collection (I'm not using iTunes or any other program, it's all just a folder of files and full-CD rips) I realized I hadn't heard the latest Prozzak album. It sounds really nice, but it's definitely got a different feel than the other three albums they released. I find it funny that they still have a MySpace page, back from when MySpace was the supposed "go-to" place for bands. (Also note that the link goes to "Prozzak2005".) I still like Prozzak's older "technopop" style of music. I'll note, two of the members of The Philosopher Kings were the brainchild of Prozzak, but I absolutely do not like that style of music, and I'm happy that Prozzak was developed due to a pair's thoughts that the Philosopher Kings' style of music was restrictive.

- The Ghostbusters Guide to Management. I'm kinda tempted to post this up at Leaside. Not that we need it, but everyone there is a geek in some form. A lot of them are gamers (which I love), and a lot of them appreciate the older movies. (A current running joke is that one particular baker quips "Skyrim?" all bird-like from time to time.) I feel very at-ease with everyone there - at least, everyone I've met so far. I'm glad I'm being appreciated :D

- I heard a song on the radio that I thought was Stan Bush, but it turns out it was Foreigner or some other one-name band from the 80's that sounded vaguely like Stan Bush. Wondering if Stan Bush ever had been in any other band, I went looking it up and discovered no, he wasn't a part of any other band, but somehow - and this is the incredibly odd point - he wrote songs for the English Sailor Moon dub, including She's Got The Power. WHAT. (Now that I know this fact, I can't NOT hear his voice now.) I also think it's awesome that he gave a song to the new Transformers game (War on Cybertron) with Till All Are One. :D

- Oddity seen today: Historical Figures turned into Anime Girls for a PC Game. I -- I don't think Julius Caesar had such an insanely huge chest, and I don't think Billy The Kid went shirtless. Uhm, and Merlin has been degraded down to the "cute mascot" status (upper-left corner)...

- A little while ago during a discussion with [livejournal.com profile] ravenworks the fact that I got to hold a QRIO came up. Looking back at this (wow, this was six years ago!) I wonder what's happened to the QRIOs. I know there's an Android Museum in Japan, I wonder if they're all there, or if of the 10 that's been seen, they're just at some of Sony's higher-ups' homes. I would love to get TK (my AIBO) back up and fully functioning again (he's got a bit of droopy-head syndrome and a poor battery).

- I've been playing a little Alice: Madness Returns. I think the game is graphically beautiful, and I doubt I've gotten too far in the game to make much commentary on it at this point, but I'm kinda wondering why the original Alice from 10 years ago (which comes with the sequel for free) plays so horrendously (i.e. choppy) while the new one plays so smoothly.

- Speaking of choppy, Team Fortress 2 is starting to die on me. It keeps crashing after only a few minutes of gameplay. I'm gonna try defragmenting the files, then reinstalling it, but otherwise, I may have found another problem with my computer, of which I thought I had cured it of all its ills - though technically that's a software issue, and not a hardware one.

- Finally started into Professor Layton and the Last Specter. No spoilers, of course, but the game is just as solid as ever. I'm also swapping in-and-out with Flower, Sun and Rain, and Solatorobo, and I discovered My Japanese Coach, while it has a bad teaching method and no way to learn the Hiragana/Katakana with character recognition, it's got a decent dictionary.

- I finished reading the seventh book in the Maximum Ride series this past week, titled Angel. I had set out some time to read the last few chapters on my lunch break at work, and discovered that once I started reading, I was on the last few pages. I also discovered that there is only one more novel in the series, which will come out in February of next year. I kinda wish the series wouldn't end, it's the most engrossing novel series that I've read in a long time.

And well... I think that's it for now. :)
