I keep tabbing over to my LJ page and realize "Hm, I really should update this with something to get those delicious cream puffs off the top of the page", and I have a few things on my mind, but right now I figured I should post this before it gets buried entirely.
On April 18th, I went over to my co-worker's place and filmed a piece with him on the Addiction of Facebook games. My addiction was on Backyard Monsters. He edited it together and revealed it on his site earlier this week:
The video is part of Rubio Films' project to profile Toronto gamers, indie developers, and other Toronto-based groups, while also showcasing his extraordinary editing skills and vision.
What I find particularly funny is that the CEO of KixEye (formerly Casual Collective) commented on the video here, and essentially was an Enabler, telling me that my base is still standing, and they could even restore the recycled buildings if I so wished.
I'll admit that I've had a few days where I was loafing around with nothing to do and my first instinct was to re-open Backyard Monsters, but I resisted. I have no desire to go back there.
In other game news, however, I've finished Portal 2 (just this morning!), and I plan on going through the game a second time with the Developer's Commentary. I still also need to finish the Co-Op Initiative, and I'm happy to hear that some free DLC to add new challenges and Co-Op Initiative rooms are being released.
And... that's it, for now. I have some other things in the wings - no post of this past week's baking course as the cake collapsed on the way home, but -- oh, right, I was thoughtful enough to take a picture of the cake when I was at the class, so if you want to tempt yourself, I've put it up here... ;P (I may retry to make it again with less filling, I think that was the issue...)
