Did anyone get caught on April Fool's Day? I did, when
ravenworks posted this list of pranks through the years. The 2nd-best one is awesome!
Anyhow, my work schedule changed today - dropped from a 4-week rotation to a 3-week rotation. I guess it was pointless for me to be proactive and plan in advance for my classes, but hey, this job really changed a lot in this past week. :\ I'm thankful that one of my co-workers was willing to swap with me (at least, the only one who's working that day in that department besides me).
...I can't remember exactly why I came here, now. I've been feeling that I've been forgetting something, but I think that it's just nervousness about the Monday meeting.
You know, I don't want to rant and ramble because it's pointless, frustrating and I know you don't want to read it. If I want to report on things, I should be reporting on the silly, funny, and amusing things!
Here's some amusing things, then!
- For a very long time (and definitely since I've had these speakers, this is probably like 15 years ago! When was Myst III out?) I haven't been able to control the volume of my computer without having to open the Volume Control window and tinker with the software. When I'm playing stuff like Team Fortress 2 this is really annoying because it takes forever for the computer to switch to-and-from the application. Now, Lifehacker linked to Volumouse Beta, a free application that lets me change the audio simply by clicking the left mouse button and scrolling the mousewheel at the same time! (I wanted to Tweet about it but I found it sounded too I-Was-Taken-Over-By-A-SpamBot. ^^)
- I was also trying out something called Creepy, which uses nothing more than your Twitter or Flickr username to try to see just how much information you divulge about yourself through the pictures you upload. I tried it, but I had a lot of trouble with it grabbing the pictures, and furthermore, I don't upload photos from a GPS-enabled phone to Twitter, so I have this feeling that it actually might not be able to pinpoint my location. (I'm kinda proud of this, knowing that I'm not that much of a target. But I can't let my guard down!)
- I finally decided that I was going to synchronize my lists together onto my Google Tasks. Now I'm just grabbing all these little scraps of paper and putting them somewhere where I can look at them wherever I go and do what strikes my fancy. I figured some people may be interested in seeing a few things on that list:
- See Deadmaus5 Live
- Try the stew recipe that a friend gave me
- Ikea Picture Frame (8.5"x11")
- Tire Inflator
- CD-RW
- Slippers
- Hook up C64 to TV
- Professor Layton and the Giant Donut (I haven't forgotten,
crazyhattrick ;) )
- SBB - Butter Tart
- Red Rose Tea (running low? ...pity.)

We do want to read it, because you're important to us. We want to shoulder you through it all, good and bad, thick or thin. Although, given your penchant for baked goods, it's likely to be "thick" for a while. ^_^

Thanks, man - good to hear from you :D I'm sure you don't want to hear me complaining, though! I'm sure you'd prefer that I stay optimistic.

Sorry I've been away for a while. I've been pretty sick lately (as I'm sure you've seen on Facebook).
