Seeing as I feel like I suddenly abandoned this journal (haha, that was a joke, FAT CHANCE) I feel like I need to post at least something to get this guilt-weight off my shoulders. So here's a little bit of ramblings from my mind. Some of these may be familiar for those of you who follow my Twitter or Facebook feeds...

We now have a new mayor… Rob Ford, right? Geez, I actually couldn't remember his name for a second there. I didn't even remember it, since I was kinda not really wanting to remember that Rob Ford's our new mayor. There's a Ford-related Twitter feed which has kinda gone silent - MayorDoubleDown.

You want to hear an extraordinary computer virus story? A computer repair shop managed to extol over $6,000,000 from one person by claiming their computer had a virus that was part of an elaborate government conspiracy. Here's the article. :D

Rock Band 3 came out two weeks ago, and while I haven't had a lot of time to play it (probably at most 4 hours, I'd reckon) I am really enjoying a) how easy it is to get into a game and play, and b) the keytar/keyboard. It's difficult as all heck, but it's fun to at least try, and that's all that Rock Band needs to be - fun. :D

Both Christine and I have been rather tired for quite some time, and I have a feeling it has to do with the new place. We're still trying to get everything the way we want it, so every day we have something to do, or something that I need to get done for my Bakery, or something else… I've started writing down things on a List, and I have this feeling the List will grow a lot before it gets eliminated. But at least now it's online - somewhere where I can just keep adding to it when the thought strikes. Speaking of tiredness, I've realized that without tea, I get rather sluggish and grumpy. I think this means that I have a caffeine dependency. I wonder what would happen if I went off tea for a day. (Obviously, I should do this when I have nothing planned.)

My desk is looking catastrophic. I'm slowly working away at figuring out where everything will go, and the place is looking better. I have a stack of old hard drives sitting on my desk, and before I stash them away or donate them to Goodwill, I want to check through them and make sure that I've retrieved everything of importance off of them - but I get this feeling I've done that already, judging from the amount of old files on my current computer. But better to be safe than sorry, and then I'm going to run some form of secure deletion (y'know, write zeroes across the whole thing or something like that) before I even consider giving them away. But even so, who's gonna want a 850MB drive? Maybe they'll want the 160GB, but those I'm keeping to build into recovery drives. :)

I've been saying to myself to stop buying things - we're in November, after all, and Christmas is coming up soon. That being said (and I still just had to buy this shirt - it's gorgeous) I finally caved and replaced the keyboard and battery in my laptop, so now the Dell Inspiron that I've been lugging about from outlet to outlet in the home and double-checking any word with a "b" in it due to super-sensitivity is now a once-again-fully-functional unit. Now, all I need to do is get all the files between the Desktop, Laptop, and Google together and I'll be able to work anywhere. I'm very pleased with how this is going.

Speaking of things going well, I'm happy about my Bakery. It seems to be going well, and I'm progressing on finding new packaging for the Cuppies. If all goes well, I'll have a nice presentation that will work a lot better than some coffee-bean bags. :D I need to add a few more products to the store - Peanut Butter Balls and reworked Peppermint Bonbon Cuppies for the holiday season. (I like the concept I've written down, I only hope I can execute it!)

Speaking of Baking, I saw that the Cake Boss puts parchment paper on the bottom and sides of his cake pans when he bakes, so I gave it a try this past week. I used a little butter to keep the parchment stuck to the walls of the pan, and the batter poured in without much problem... and the cake came out without a single problem either! I am using this technique from now on!

I'm just going to give a little shout-out to a few business prospects:
Christine's created a series of Christmas Cards that are available now at her website. You should buy them now so you'll be able to give them out for the Holidays! :)
[livejournal.com profile] ravenworks just released his Skully on Xbox Live Indie Games. If you're on Xbox Live, you can get the Trial here.
[livejournal.com profile] spunkywulf's Mugshot Industries is a new t-shirt company with some ultra-cute designs. I like the "Pineapple!" one. :)

Gamercamp is this weekend! I'm not really certain on just what's going to happen there, but I hear I really missed something neat the first time around, so I'm looking forward to "Level 2", and Amanaguchi is playing tomorrow night, too - first exposure to live chiptunes! :)

Oh my goodness, thank you for the plug! That's really nice of you! :D

No problem, it's the least I could do :)

I'm still thinking about trying to send you a Giant Cookie Ziploc-bagged and surrounded in bubblewrap - just to see if it survives. I'd consider it a test of the postal service. :P
