I think I was too enthusiastic to move forward and start exercising wherein I had zero exercise for quite so much time. Yesterday I walked for a good hour (to work and back), and spent 60-90 minutes doing my physiotherapy stretches. As such, after walking to work today, my body ached, and I got a lift home from a friend. I keep forgetting about the 'rest' part of exercise; as such, I think I'll just take my car to work tomorrow for fear of doing further damage to my body. Then I'll walk on Friday when I don't need to take my car...
Speaking of exercise, I saw that TVTropolis/Global is making a Canadian version of Wipeout. I love watching this show and even if I didn't win, I'd want my chance at the odd obstacle course, so I think I may give it a shot and send in an application. What have I got to lose (other than dignity)? :)
Just by chance, I saw an episode of "The Lab" with Leo Laporte where they suggested that Nexxtech Wireless Headphones were a great deal. I had this feeling I remembered the name; they're a pseudo-generic brand from The Source. So, I figure that it might be wise for me to maybe get some wireless headphones so that I can play games and such without disturbing Christine, so I went looking. I found three with a rather cheap price: the aforementioned Nexxtech (though only available online), a set by Sony, and one by Sennheiser, which I believe is a fairly reputable company. Christine got me some from RCA back at Christmas time, but I couldn't get a good signal at all. Maybe these might be a good replacement. I'm gonna stop by there tomorrow to see if any are available, and if there's any benefit of one over the other. Plus, working for Bell has its advantage in that we get further discounts on The Source stuff :)
And now, let me just say this... I used to hate sleeping during the day when I was on overnight shifts. But now, it's 9:15 and it's still surprisingly bright outside! Have the sun set already! ;P

Unless the Americans twatted it up here by going against that and framing it with yet another reality blubberfest - something which I imagine is quite likely, but American TV has pleasantly surprised me before. Only once, mind you.

And now that I think about it, that post you made a little while ago with John Travolta dressed up as a leek (if memory serves me correctly) is pretty much on-par with the bizarre concepts behind Wipeout.

After seeing both of those clips I'm surprised but very encouraged that things like this are still possible without increasingly rigid health and safety considerations getting in the way - that Sweeper is more over-the-top than anything that I saw in the 80s, and I'd previously thought that my memory of things like Run the Risk, for example, with its... increasingly slippery turntable, would be completely unworkable today. (Note how Peter Simon's commentary just dissolves into maniacal laughter after thirty seconds or so...)
