Merry Chr... err, Boxing Day! Oh yeah, Americans don't celebrate Boxing Day :P (Who knows where the holiday came from, but for me it counts as a statutory holiday :P)
I never really was much for Boxing Day Sales... all the stuff I want is still too expensive, even if it's half-price :P - and what's the point of not enjoying what you got the day before?
Anyhoo... yesterday, I was the last to wake up at 9am (I always seem to be the last one to wake up on Christmas, regardless of when I wake up), and we sat down for a light breakfast of chelsea, scrambled eggs and bacon, and then the gift-giving ^_^
As my parents do every year, the main gift was Metroid Prime - but they also gave me $40 towards another game (which I'll most likely get Mario Party 4 or some other multiplayer game... Timesplitters 2 perhaps). From my sister I got a Tea/Coffee Press with tons of Japanese/Chinese teas, as well as a Frommer's Guide to Japan (which I'll have to study for a while if I'm going to go there ^_^). My parents also got me one of those white-noise machines that plays sounds like Sea Birds or Ocean Waves... I used it last night at a really quiet setting and dropped off quickly ^_^ Sabrina's main gift was a Blanket covered in penguins - they shall overrun the house! :P The family on my Dad's side (they had a party yesterday that I couldn't attend, due to me working) got me the Guiness Book of World Records 2003 - Awesome! I love those books.
My parents also fueled my anime needs with a Tenchi Muyo Chocolate Bar. :P
Wataame mailed a scarf to me - I must've been going on about how I kept forgetting mine ^_^ it's a very dark grey and will match well with the rest of my winter clothes (which are all black - my other scarf is very red/green/white) ^_^ Thank you Wataame!
I had to work at 1:30 on Christmas Day, and Telepace had a show that ran for a full eight and a half hours. Needless to say I was quite bored... although they had some redition of "Have a Merry Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year" called "Natale Con Voi".
8:30pm rolls around last night, and I'm just about to call for a cab to take me home, and my Dad calls.
"What time are you leaving?"
"I was planning on leaving in about an hour."
"Great, we'll come pick you up."
Which was great, because otherwise I would've had to cab or bus it home on Christmas Night. ^_^
So, I've been playing Metroid Prime a lot. I feel that I haven't really done much, but I'm at 12% already :P
