I cannot comprehend how the spoken word can be so dreadfully restrained in my throat while the virtual pen-and-ink of the keyboard can flow so freely.

Happy Superbowl Day, for anyone who watches it. I honestly don't care about the sports, and I ain't sitting around, drinking beer and eating chips. Okay, I'm sitting around, on my computer, watching strange YouTube videos, eating beefsteak pies and drinking tea (and a little Dooley's a thank-you from my co-worker for working this last weekend). But there's a difference. :P
By the way, Beefsteak pies - I just realized something, packaging-wise. They come in a set of 6 in a flimsy plastic holder, and each individual pie is in a metal tin, but regardless of the method you use to cook them (microwave or oven) you remove the foil container. Isn't that just wasteful? I understand taking the metal out for the microwave, but why for the oven? (I'm also concerned that the pie will burst, spilling its goodness all over the cookiesheet, but I digress.)
- Yotsuba& a ball. I can't stop laughing, and the expression is priceless.
- Pumpkinhead advertising Raisin Bran. Brilliant XD
- Fan Video of Final Fantasy VI in anime form done in Full Metal Alchemist's style, even using "Ready Steady Go". S'alright.
- I much prefer seeing a Vocaloid perform the opera scene from FFVI. Sounds beautiful. (Yes, that's a computer.) :D
- The worst products from the Consumer Electronics Show, 2010. Check out the video of the "unbreakable" phone which gets a mention on the list here.
- First-Person Tetris is a great execution. Kinda feels like a Retro Sabotage. I got dizzy, though.
- Another game I enjoyed but couldn't finish was Tuper Tario Tros, a mash-up of Tetris and Super Mario Bros. It's a crazy execution but they make it work.
- Walkie Tonky, I really like for the art aesthetic. It's a simple grab-and-throw type game with a lumbering robot (which I likened to the Iron Giant) while everything around you is trying to take you down. It's fun :D
- Flood the Chamber is a bit infuriating. But I like the concept of being able to see everything laid out in front of you. I also like that you can "QuickPlay" the game right on GameJolt without having to download, unzip, and run the program itself.
- Projecting a 3D image onto a building to give the illusion of something not physically there, or even in some cases to give the illusion of the building moving. I like this! The technology behind it looks great :D
- The Case of the 500-Mile email. This will be amusing to IT techs. ^^
- Ever heard of the Something Store? For $10 (and yes, they ship to Canada) they'll send you something. What that something is, who knows? (Though, I do notice that they haven't updated their blog for a couple of weeks.)
- Wondering how Google scans their books, and with such speed and precision? here's an article on the process, as well as a few other processes that are being used. It still requires turning pages, sadly ;)
- Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo. That's apparently a real sentence. The English language is weird.
- If you've got a Canon camera, you can upgrade it with a soft hack to ake it even more powerful. I've got a FujiFilm, but I wanted to pass this along.
- I feel like I've mentioned this before. A printer that uses your used coffee grounds as "printer ink" - and you do the back-and-forth as well to save even more energy. Neat concept, but I wonder if it'll ever make it to market?
- Oh Gawd. This can't be real. Did someone really get a Tattoo like the one referenced in The Whitest Kids You Know?
- You know what's started to irk me? When swordplay in a movie draws a blade across a body and there's the sound like it was hitting Wolverine's Adamantium frame rather than bone. Granted, it'd probably squick people more if it was a wet, squishy noise, but bone does not sound like metal. You'd think there would be a better alternative.
- Speaking of Squick, I found out through TV Tropes that it may have originated in the Whedonverse.
- This is a pretty old piece, but check out this article - or namely, the comments - on this Cheezus Christ.
- New XBox 360 Ads in Japan. It's like the robots are taking over.
- Skittles Vodka? Tempting!
I also got an interesting comment recently - "You're weird, but your weirdness brings deliciousness" :D I like it! I need a slogan at some point...

Tell me more about this fascinating thought. :X

My speech patterns, on the other hand, are simple. I don't really speak that eloquently and I would never use "eloquently" in conversation except when I'm typing. In a similar vein, I find that I can't describe things verbally without some kind of visual aid, whether it be a diagram or something on a computer screen.
There was a time that ICQ did "realtime chatting" where you could see everything the person wrote in realime - actually, that's very similar to watching a person write in Google Wave/Google Docs. It was kinda mesemerizing, since you could see their every pause and correction.

I think a lot of people are more comfortable communicating online, because the social and temporal pressures are both off.... But what made the thought occur to you?

I'm not exactly sure what brought it about - I found it in one of my many e-mails to myself and I only dropped it into one of my posts recently. The only thing that can think is that I must have had a time at work when I had to pull out a sheet of paper to describe how our servers operate. I thought it was simple enough to describe alone, but it's obviously more complex than it looks...
