Interesting fact: Today was the first mention of SARS in Toronto.
I heard yesterday that the Toys R Us in the downtown core was closing up, and so after I left work today I decided to check it out and see if I could score a sweet deal.
The place used to be two stories full of toys, now it's down to half-a-floor. ;_; It looks so sad to see it like that, but at least it wasn't a pile of stuff that was rummaged through. It was still well-organized and on the shelves, everything with bright orange tags.
Guh, I hope that if I ever run a business I don't ever have the store looking like that, tho. Closings suck. ;_;
I found the cutest thing for my sister's birthday, and as I was told that games were being sold cheap, I went primarily to see if I could get a game or two I was interested in.
Kevin had mentioned playing Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy at a point and liking it, and I knew he was a Resident Evil fan, so I noted that Sphinx and RE0 were still there. I grabbed them and wandered the rest of the game bins.
Aside from them both being $30, they were further discounted another 20%, so I managed to pick up two, two, TWO games for less than the price of one! :P
Nothing else of importance, really. :\ A lot of sports games. I didn't check the PS2 or XBox bins, as I don't have either. But Dave and Erin searched through it yesterday and only noted a couple of games - like Frequency and Amplitude for awesome prices.
I wish I had known about it (the store closing) sooner, but hey, I've got a couple of new games now. ^_^ So far, I'm liking Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy. It's tricky (lost all my life after only finding the first save point, so that's a good challenge!)
I go back to work on Monday. If anyone's interested, I'll pop by and see if I can snag stuff for people. :)
Hey Chris and Ysa, The Regent Cinema on Mount Pleasant (just south of Eglinton) is showing The Corporation. Maybe we can finally see this movie! - And hopefully the roof won't cave in O.o
