You know, it's not often that we really sit back and reflect on where we are in life. Thanksgiving is a good time to look at it.

I'm thankful to have a roof over my head. I'm thankful to have a car that gets me to where I need to be, and I'm thankful to have a job that I enjoy, with the prospective thought that someday I may be able to own my own business. (In that similar vein, I'm thankful that I have co-workers who look out for me and appreciate all that I do for them, and they repay that in kind for when I ask them to do things for me.)

I'm thankful that I have a lot of creature comforts. I have a smartphone that keeps me connected. I have a powerful desktop computer for my gaming. I have a fishtank which has fish that have survived years and a move. I have an unlimited bandwidth internet connection which lets us watch all the TV we could ever want without paying exorbitant cable fees. I have a laptop which lets me do everything my smartphone can't do, with portability about the apartment.

I'm thankful that I have a fiancee who loves me for who I am, even if I am a big emotional baby who somehow is managing a bakery. ;)

And lastly, I'm thankful to have a large group of friends. Friends who, while I haven't had the chance to talk with a lot recently, I want to know what they're doing, and they still want to know how I'm doing. I wish I had more time for you all. I shouldn't be so quiet and solitary when I'm at home. I should instigate chats more often. But despite me not doing these things, you're still here for me. And for that, I'm thankful.

Happy (Canadian) Thanksgiving, everyone!
