Still not feeling top-of-the-world right now (I caught some sort of bug floating around work) and it's stabilized into a headcold, but thankfully I've had a day to rest-up some more. Another night and I'm hoping at least the headcold's gone, but I may just need to have my sinuses drained.

Aside from work, I've been thinking that I need to do more of the things that I want to do. As such, I won a gift certificate for a small discount on the Toronto Japanese Language School during Anime North, so every Saturday morning, I'm now going to school to learn Japanese. ^^ I hardly remember anything from my Conversational Japanese class back at the JCCC (which was.. oh, what, 8, 10 years ago?) so I'm starting off at the Beginner class again. I've completely lost my Hiragana and Katakana, and the JCCC's course focused on discussion, not the alphabet, so I'm fine with going through the characters again. I should figure out how to get my Palm working again so I can use it for flashcards.

Last Friday, I was called to come in to the Forest Hill location of COBS on Saturday as the manager had to cover a sick baker and therefore would've left the store with one new girl working the front. I leapt at the chance to see another store, and I spent the majority of my evening making doughs for the following morning's bakers. I got today off as compensation. ^^ I know Nicole (the manager of our store) is off for a vacation in a week's time, so I've gotta focus on leaning the little things like ordering products and handling the problems that crop-up on my own. :)

I finally finished watching the anime "Gate Keepers" this evening! Only took me... what, a few months to get through the whole series? XD Maybe I should move on to something else that has a smaller episode count :P Maybe Lain? Amazingly enough, I never finished that...

I recently picked up a simple MIDI Adaptor from DealExtreme that would let me try playing with my Rock Band Keyboard controller on my PC. After a quick download of Anvil Studio, I was able to play around with musical notes. I'm not very musically inclined though, so a lot of my music sounded like Don Music.

I discovered a couple of evenings ago that my AceKard2 (a DS Homebrew cart) has finally given up the ghost - or rather, the MicroSD locking mechanism has given up. The MicroSD card won't stay in, so I can't use it. :( I found a place online that sells the R4 for $2... ridiculous price and I've found something called the "Wood R4", and since it can run the one game I really wanted to play (Hotel Dusk 2, only released in Europe), I figured it would be worth a shot. ^^

In game-related news, there's rumours that the Ace Attorney/Professor Layton crossover will be released in English, due to the press release at Tokyo Game show hinting with a few English subtleties ("English names TBA"). Tiny Cartridge linked to the trailer which looks sweet. I still haven't purchased a 3DS as I haven't seen the draw through the game library; if this and Layton's Mask of Miracle get released here (heck, even just one of the two) it will be a very compelling reason for me to join in. ^^
