(no subject)

I've been really scatterbrained this weekend, and thought I was doing alright, but near the end of the day yesterday I got so focused on playing Defense Grid that I lost track of time. :S In any case, I'm now working on trying to catch-up on the things that I wanted to get done since last night. (This post was started around Friday evening, and I'm finally posting it on Sunday. This is why I don't post so often. ^^)

I've been watching Extra Credits recently (courtesy of travisuped, and I've been really impressed with how they manage to get their points across. I could never find the same way of defining what they do, and this past week's episode, talking about Where Gaming is Headed, is especially interesting.

There are so many different games out there (so much so that I've been purchasing and not playing) that there is definitely not enough time to enjoy them all. I've placed a self-imposed stop on purchasing games until I get through some of the games that I have yet to even crack open the plastic on. jonesybunny had posted on their Twitter a picture of their current backlog of games, and invited others to do the same. Just looking at my IKEA bookshelf stacked full of Wii and Xbox 360 titles, I decided to grab what titles I would still want to play (or haven't played). The picture can be found here. Feel free to ask me why I still want to play these games (or if I've even given them a fighting chance ;) ). And what have I been playing the past few days? "Defense Grid", "'Splosion Man", and "Zombies 8 My Cookiez", all downloadable games. XD (I also tried "Greed Corp" - both that game and "Zombies 8 My Cookiez" are definitely designed to be played with more friends, and I'd prefer them local rather than online. Both are fun!)

You know, I was watching a particular episode of Game Center CX via Tiny Cartridge (note: That episode listed there is a two-parter, so there's three more parts to watch, which you can find here, episode 115), and I was wondering... why isn't there a show like this in North America? I'm sure somebody could duplicate the idea on YouTube easily, but I guess, also after watching that Extra Credits episode, Gaming is starting to broaden quite rapidly. I would love to see a humble, not-perfect gamer like Arino try his hand at a number of old-school NES games.

(By the way, Scott Pilgrim vs The World comes out in Japan this week, apparently, so Edgar Wright is in Japan with Michael Cera. If you go here, you'll see photos that he's been taking, and there's even a few with Arino-san himself. :) )

I've been feeling rather good this week. Despite not being able to find Cracklin' Oat Bran in Canada, I went online and found someone had created something fairly similar at home. I gave it a shot (had to replace the palm oil with canola oil, and added more milk to make it more moist before baking) and it came out really, really well! :D (Lifehacker just posted about How To Make Your Own Pop-Tarts, too... hmmm...)

I also updated the Silver Ball Bakery to be more social! I added Facebook, Twitter, and an RSS feed! (You'll see the links at the bottom of every page, now. At ravenworks' suggestion, I wanted to host the RSS locally and edit it manually when I needed to, but I looked at the code and froze. I'm not touching that with a 10-foot pole. I'll be fine with using the Feed43 "Feed for Free" service. ^^)
