Okay, I love the winter and all, but I'm done, thanks. Ol' Man Winter, please be kind and let Lady Spring come around for us. We've already had like 5 snowstorms and now we've got another one!

However, I saw this paragraph, and immediately was trying to solve it, Professor Layton-style:
GO buses north of Toronto are delayed by up to 90 minutes, and a problem relating to an overnight freight train derailment has forced service cancellations on the Georgetown line, with the exception of two trains out of Bramalea, one of which left at 5:50am, the other leaving at 7:40am. Two other trains were scheduled to depart the Mount Pleasant station - one at 7am the next at 7:27am.
...even though there's no puzzle in there. XD
(Speaking of Professor Layton, I recently heard that there's a side-story cartridge out there. Too bad it's only in Japan, and I get this feeling it won't be released here unless it's a download or something.)

Someone is brilliant and has gone to remove Garfield from his own comic strip. In Garfield Minus Garfield, you could almost call it "Jon" and it's a totally new experience. XD

And for a couple more reading articles to start your day, here's Cracked.com's 12 Great Video Games with Ridiculous Premises. Makes sense when you overthink what the heck Super Mario Bros. or Sonic the Hedgehog really is. And then there's Destructoid's Five Videogame Characters who suck at their jobs. Not that anyone actually has a job in videogame land, they usually get distracted by the game...

Here's an e-mail I received today from one "Damien Barbour":

and armor, and assigned a dozen of Gregor Cleganes men to escort the two of them to Maidenpool. But others were holding their tongues, or muttering asides to their neighbors. No cravens peace! The ending took the puppet show from simple insolence to treason. Witless fools. Only cretins

Hm. Sounds like an excerpt from a book. But what are Gregor Cleganes men? The first reference found on Google brings up the Kingsguard so I think it very well may be a book excerpt. How bizarre! No craven peace!

It's been a while since I mentioned video games since I've been obsessing over my fishtank. Christine and I went in today and picked up everything (aside from plants and the light, as it wasn't delivered yet) so I can start setting it up. I've got a nice rock formation and a couple of large pieces of driftwood, and now I just need to get the plants to provide cover and make it more healthy. Looks good, so far! (And there I go, diverting to the tank again! :P)

Anyhow, I finished Professor Layton awhile back. I am eagerly awaiting the sequel already, and [livejournal.com profile] seangaffney only invigorated my love of the game since I have to be ever-so-crafty in making hints. ;) I went looking at the Japanese website, and if what I've heard about the sequel (more animation, more games, more voice, more everything it seems) it'll be a blast to play, and then I'll be eagerly awaiting the third game. XD (If you want to see a couple of trailers for the game, click "Movie", the second-from-the-right on the filmstrip.)

By the way, the Puzzle music from Layton could totally put me to sleep. I want to use it as a musicbox or something to drop me right off. :)

I need a Professor Layton icon. I want to get a good-quality image of his "Got it!" face (from when you solve a puzzle). Hm...

I've also been playing through "No More Heroes", and I'm nearing the end. At least, I think I am. The bosses are finally getting challenging.

And on the DS front, since I've completed Layton, I've been going through Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney. I'm guessing I'm about halfway through the second case. I guess because I'm aware there's part of the case that hasn't even been touched upon yet. This game is feeling to be a really big, lengthy puzzle, and I like that I see a couple of old faces in different situations. I'm totally curious to know "what happened seven years ago" but I'll get to that in time, I'm sure of it. I mean, I'm certain that's what the final case will center around, similar to how the first Ace Attorney game referred to SL-9 and DL-6...
