Crap. I lost all of this entry due to the thunderstorm that's raging outside. And it was all sunny this morning, too...

Yesterday was an attempt at reclaiming part of my childhood as we (Christine, Dave, Brandy, and myself) went up to Paramount Canada's Wonderland! Initially, we were a bit amazed at the rain that was coming down (the weather reports all week said it was going to be sunny, and we hit this insane rainfall on the way up), but we persevered and by the time we arrived there, the rain had stopped and it stayed that way the entire time we were there. :D

So, upon entering the park at Noon, we decided to hit a few rides that we had never gone on before (I had not been here since I stopped working at Splash Works, about 10 years ago). We went on a few rollercoaster rides such as Tomb Raider, The Fly and Thunder Run, as well as hitting a few Thrill rides such as Clockwerks, Psyclone, Sledgehammer, and White Water Canyon (where I proceeded to get doused with water - I didn't hit the waterfall, it was a rough bump :P).

We had also checked out the Stunt Spectacular, which was held out in a backlot - very odd place to have it, I thought, but there was some insane pyrotechnics and motorcycle tricks done live "and in your face". XD

I don't think I had ever eaten funnel cake before, but I had some. Tasty stuff! We had brought our lunch that day and sat out on a grassy point and fed some of the seagulls, which gave us some bizarre entertainment. Also, a few jokes (one involving vomit, andother with pigeon-punting) were had over the course of the day that had us in stitches for a while. XD

We ended up staying until the park closed at 10pm. We had such a blast just wandering around and taking in the sights - the park is much smaller than we all remebered it, but then again we were all smaller ourselves 10 years ago. :P

I see that [livejournal.com profile] kats_kradle and Mark went to Wonderland this past week, too - I think everyone's getting that bugbite :P

Like I mentioned earlier, we have a thunderstorm rolling in. I saw it on my walk to the IGA today and I'm glad I didn't get caught in the downpour. However, since that's twice that my compy's been reset because of the storm, I'm gonna go buy a small (like, 5-10 min) UPS. I don't need any more than that...

Passing along from [livejournal.com profile] seangaffney: Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart. That has a total musical atmosphere to it, aside from the "creepy" aspect too. Then there's the one that [livejournal.com profile] lordshipmayhem dredged up of Hurra Torpedo covering the same song using Kitchen Appliances.)

Christine had linked to this entry but I never passed it along, either: Atari's Pole Position video. The game was horrible, but obviously you can see where the money went - to the marketing crew.

Vote for the World's Worst Sound.
