I had a little list going of things I wanted to do today. Of which, a number of them were things I wanted to "report on" or talk about.
Okay, so the Linux Project continues. Now I've attempted to load Debian, and while it couldn't establish an internet connection to use apt-get, it installed. Then I couldn't get past the login. I'm certain the password I entered was correct... As of right now, I'm downloading the "Alternate" Kubuntu ISO. If that doesn't work, I think I may stop for a while to let my head clear. Also, Debian is initially text-basd, right? I really would like a graphical interface, but I think I'll start that over, too...
I went to see The Devil Wears Prada a little while ago with Christine. I liked the music and the story but, as Christine put it, if you want to see the main character do something at the end of the movie she should've done at the start... it also makes the fashion industry look incredibly bad as it focuses on beauty and clothing, nothing to do with the person.
This past weekend was the Outdoor Art Exhibition, and there was at least a hundred different artists selling their artworks and sculptures. A lot of it was really, really nice, and had the prices not been at normal art piece price (one I really liked was $1,200), I would've been tempted to buy something. (Art is not exactly an "impulse buy". However, we did see this awesome company called Monster Factory which created some awesome plushies - Christine picked up a Monster Farms one called Babushka, which is adorable! :) (It's also not on the site, maybe I should take a picture of it... ah, here's one.) They were also used in a music video for Guster - you can see it here! :D
I was watching a dub of a Russian film today called Night Watch, a movie about "Light" and "Dark" creatures of the night. Creepy special effects but a cool film regardless. Watching them driving around in this dumptruck wearing olive-coloured uniforms, though, made me think of Ghostbusters, and how I want to see those movies again. I guess also rediscovering the Ghostbusters Toronto business card in my wallet also helped me remember, too...
By the way - for any of my Animal Crossing: Wild World friends - Whenever I'm at home and can access the internet, I'm opening my gates to you guys - if you open your gates it'll tell you other people are available, so come on over! :) My friend codes are in my userinfo.
