I should link to a couple of things that I've been meaning to mention for a while now...
A while ago, I saw something called GoldenApple where people had done live-action GoldenEye (a la Nintendo64). And they act pretty much exactly like the game would, including walking into walls and shooting point-blank. XD It's the best if you've played this game at all. :D
When I mentioned this, for some reason a co-worker had suggested Brokeback To The Future. I finally found it. :D *laughs*
I also wanted to mention a couple of games that I'm playing these days. I'm still playing flOw, and ever since I got my new computer and video card I've been rediscovering it, as I was unaware how good the game runs with a better videocard. :P It's much easier for me to battle bosses when the system doesn't slow to a 1fps glitchfest. :P
I'm still also playing Cave Story, and I still want to get that last ending, but it's difficult.
One concept which I find amazing is Warning Forever. The idea is that you face boss after boss with a top-down shooter (therein lies the "Warning Forever"), but! The boss learns from your techniques. If you attack from the front, the next version of the boss will have more armour on its front panels. If you get killed by homing missles, it will likely have more homing missle systems on the next itineration. By the 10th-15th stage you're facing this monstrocity that you've effectively built yourself through your attacks.
I had heard of Every Extend through
shihtzu, I believe. The idea with this is that you have a bunch of "UCHU bombs" which effectively, just explode, kamikaze-style. What you do is try to get the biggest chain reaction, Missle-Command-style - every explosion you create can explode other items in its vicinity. It's simple but very difficult to pull off well.
As well, I'm finally playing Indigo Prophecy, and it runs nice and smooth - all I need to do now is see if that sudden crash I experienced was random or an every-time variable...
