Drat, I think I had a quote to put up there, but I can't remember what, exactly...
Well, things were okay at the con. I worked most of the time as I normally do (I have to admit that there are not a lot of things I'm particularily interested in going to - perhaps I work too much? :/) but saw a lot of people pass by the tables. Ryan tried something different this year - didn't sell many DVDs or Manga as, well, everyone else had those. We focused on Art Books and T-Shirts, of which both sold quite well. I think there may have been about 500 shirts and Ryan went home with 40. :)
The Dealer's Room was incredibly busy the entire time. I almost had to wait for a while to get to the front of any dealer, to look around. I didn't buy any new animes or mangas, I aimed to fill out the collections that I had already. So I picked up DearS (yes, I keep hearing the "why?' from you all :P), SaiKano, Here is Greenwood, found Cannon God Exxaxion and Oh! My Goddess for $3 each(!), and then picked up a few animes as well: Heat Guy J (again with the "why?" :P), the SaiKano OVA, some Steam Detectives (I've managed to find those discs at $10 a pop, not a bad collection so far), and finished up Popotan and Komugi-chan, as well.
*checks bank accounts* Ah, good. My Animeigo Box Set has been processed, too. :)
Non-Anime/Manga stuff I also picked up a Haibane Renmei scroll-poster, a Domo-kun t-shirt, two art books (Robot 2 and a Lain artbook) and a walking Gloomy Bear for Christine. :)
I brought my digicam along to take pictures of cosplayers, but I didn't take very many. Only a few really caught my eye.
( Here they are, not too many )
After swimming on Sunday night, much alcohol was consumed along with several stories of
guinnessmon's life. (speaking of which, I must add a few more people to my Friends List... done. :) )
You know, I had a lot of fun hanging out when I wasn't at the Dealer's Room. I should do that more. :P But as it stands, I've come back from a meeting at work, Christine's at work, and Chris & Ysa are downtown, and I have a few hours of relaxation (and finishing the latest HP book) before doing anything else. It's good to have a little downtime now and again...
EDIT: Now I remember what I was going to write on the subject line.
"Okay. That squid in the lake... *so* not a naughty tentacle monster."
