Servo, what you wrote in your journal yesterday made me and Ysa weep when I was over there last night. As I'm not good with words, I too would like to say something.
I wrote the majority of this down last night, while I was staying over, in my Palm.
Chris + Ysa appeared in my life approximately one year ago. Through a common friend, Emily, we started visiting them at their apartment near where my aunt lives.
Over the past year I have been more social because of these two people. They have offered their apartment as a place to stay - both to others, and to myself, regardless that I have a bed in Toronto. They have offered countless meals (and burritos) and never asked for repayment.
They trsuted me enough to watch over their apartment while they were away for a week.
Sadly, I caught them at the end of their 3 years here in Toronto, and they will be heading home to Halifax after a 5-week trip to Hawaii.
I feel like I'm losing a part of my family.
Sure, they'll be coming back every year for Anime North, but when you're used to visiting them twice a week or more, this will be a shock to my system.
My sister, Seanna, lives in Halifax too. Sometime I will have to visit them. A year between visits is much too long.
Today marked the day they moved all of their stuff (which they had been packing into boxes at the beginning of this week) into a 17-foot U-Haul. It just barely all fit in. Their place looks so different there without their stuff in it. We swept up the hordlings of Dust Bunnies, mopped, and shared some Pizza before I dashed off. Tomorrow after work I pick them up from there (or perhaps somewhere else, it hasn't been totally worked out yet) and I drive them to the airport Saturday morning.
Goodbye, Chris + Ysa. Your presence in Toronto and at things we did together will definitely be missed.
I can't see the screen anymore. I'm tearing up too much. ;___;
