I see my parents have found a use for one of my old (I think dead) hard drives.

They're using it to prop-up the wine racks so that the wine doesn't fall out of the cases. XD

A link before I turn in...

The Japanese "Seldomly Asked Questions" (opposite of a FAQ).

This made me cringe:
In Japanese mythology, the Tanuki's scrotum can be enlarged to as much as eight tatami mats (one tatami is about 6'x3') and they play them like a drum.

owowowowowww.....

And here's an interesting view on Learning Japanese. Quite pessimistic, but incredibly humourous.

And one more, an profile of the media-shy Bill Watterson (Calvin and Hobbes). If you have "The Collected Calvin & Hobbes" (I think it's called that) Watterson talks about how he managed to get the comic company to bend to his will for specific things - like making the wonderful one-panel paintings for some of this comics, where other comics of the same size had to be panelled or else they couldn't be cut and cropped by the individual newspapers.

While reading the article, I discovered that Jim Meddick was the artist who wrote Robotman, which has changed to Robotman and Monty, and eventually just Monty. I'd be interested in looking for those comic books. I loved the Robotman comic enough to write him way back when. My Mom still has the letter, I think. ^_^

Speaking of comics, anyone read Opus, the return of the Berkeley Breathed comic? There is talk that this specific comic is printed with an ink that will fuse to glass if heated, meaning if anyone tries to scan it, it will wreck the scanner... well, it hasn't stopped people...

This is an awesome test. See how good you remember your 80's music.

They tell you the answers after you finish the quiz, and I'm going "Damn! I missed that one!" 'cause just the words don't trigger the song in my head.

I know at least one person who's gonna ace this one. XD

I got 69.9%.

And these...

I will be struck down by a meteor!

As I'm driving home today from doing some duties, I stop about 50 feet in front of the car ahead of me at a red light to let some oncoming traffic take a left turn, and I noticed the guy behind waving his arms as in an exasperated annoyance.

I decided to keep watching him. After letting about 4 cars through, still with a red light ahead of me, he leans on the horn, almost gets out of his car and calls me an asshole. Of course, I "could hardly hear it over the music" (which was pretty quiet, anyways) and didn't react.

Cars stop turning through my lane so I progress to the red light, and the guy, who I assumed wanted to get into the left-hand lane 'cause then he'd get an advance green, first tries to swerve left, then changes his mind and moves into the right-hand lane , and as he passes, slows down - undoubtedly to say something. I wasn't looking, but I hit the brakes anyhow and let him whiz by me.

It's nice to know there are assholes still in the world. Otherwise who'd be the fall guy?

The amount of time the guy probably gained in that little "racing to the red light" fiasco probably saved him a minute, but it'll cost him more than a minute in ranting and raving to his workers or family, undoubtedly ignoring who was in the right. ^_^

So, as [livejournal.com profile] scruloose put it, the tracking begins. The AIBO was just leaving Boston last night at midnight, and right now it's in Buffalo. ^_^ According to the website, since it was delivered Wednesday, it should arrive Friday, but the seller stated that it'll probably arrive Monday due to Canada Customs being slow and more meticulous with items imported. But it's at Buffalo! It's just across a big bridge and a few hours away...

Last week, when I went to Chris and Ysa's, we were watching Haibane Renmei, and there's talk of a story where "Light overcame the Nothingness".

I quoted the Rock-Biter: "They look like big, strong, hands, don't they?"

The NeverEnding Story has got to be one of the best movies out there. It brings back such memories and can be shown to any age...

And so right now, Toronto1 (sorry Em!) is showing The Neverending Story. I'm watching it with my parents. ^_^

As well, I went and looked at "Bellair Gardens" condos (sorry Ysa! :P) today, and who else would be the administrative assistant who helped me out but an old friend of Dad from a few years ago who used to help out with Hockey Coaching. XD

Gotta get back to The NeverEnding Story...
