Awhile back, there was talk about how the Bloor Bridge had "designated jumping points" (i.e. the "Luminous Veil", as its called, was not finished and there were open spots at the outcroppings). They've since sealed them up, but as this article states, if people are going to jump, they'll just jump somewhere else. :| The person just went and jumped from the Leaside bridge, which is higher, instead. :|

I wonder if a cheap chain-link fence (cost: maybe $100,000) would have done any better than this strange mesh of wires (which cost several million dollars) to prevent anyone from jumping. Or better counseling or helplines. Just sealing up one popular jumping bridge isn't going to make the problem go away -_-
