This post comes through late, courtesy of a DDOS sttack on LiveJournal.com.
This morning I got to work, and my keycard wasn't letting me into our workspace. I had already gotten through one keycarded door, and I had completely forgotten that already o_O
I stepped into the room and was immediately greeted by a 'Happy Birthday' banner with yellow balloons strung around the room.
I was stunned and choked-up.
They even got me a card and cupcakes!
*puts hands on his waist* alright, who told them? ^_^
I wasn't expecting anything! *sobs happily*
Looking back at what I remember, this has been an incredible year for me. I got out of College and entered a career. When U8TV closed, I waf almost immediately snapped up by IPTN, which over the past 8 months has changed, in CEOs, name, and direction.
A realization that I lived a secluded life has made me realize that I need more social interaction, and so I've gone out and made new friends' and (at least attempted to) strengthen existing ones - including ones from my High School years ^_^
Another year for me has passed... time for the next one. I hope to do better than I have in the past.
My parents took me out to La Biftheque (sp?) for dinner tonight. They did say that I had never been there before, and they were right. I think I ate too much, tho... I feel quite content right now. :P
My Aunt Con got me a Chinese Calligraphy Set (very cool! I get to grind ink now!), and my parents got me something I hope I never have to use - a Car Emergency Kit. Dad got me a CD/Tape Adapter - now all I need is a Tape Deck in my car to use it with O_o
My sister called tonight (as did the rest of my relatives) to wish me a happy birthday, and apparently they are ECSTATIC about the videogames I shipped them. ^_^ She kicked major ass at Uniracers (she played better than I did), and really likes Clay Fighter, too ^_^ - and all her friends (of whom own the SNES) are thanking me too, 'cause all they had to play was NHL '94. *lol* I accidentally sent her one of my "faves" CDs as well - she recognizes a couple of tracks (Elvis vs. JXL, Queen in Japanese, and the Inspector Gadget remix), and she's liking that too :P
More Bash, as usual:
I've heard of learning curves...
Yes. No.
I want one too. Emoticon fun.
The last line - Best. Line. Ever.
Oh, I think what he meant was perfect.
I love that sketch.
Not Bash-related, but a good answer, nonetheless - especially if you've played Shenmue.
Considering that Hikaru Midorikawa is coming to AN this year, perhaps I should remake my Tamahome outfit? Or maybe finally get around to doing Zelgadis... *shrug*
Oh, I'm working longer hours tomorrow because Erich wants to go to the Autoshow tomorrow - but this means that I'll be off work at Noon on Friday, so if anyone is available around 1ish instead of 3ish on Friday for the Gathering, I'll most likely be around Chinatown there at that time ^_^
