First off, I'd like to promote the next two Matrix movies with an article a friend - Netbug, "Drew", sent me. It's a great read for anyone who liked the Matrix and want to know more about the sequels.

And someone passed along a takeoff on "Clerks" called "Heroes". Entertaining if you know anything about comic book superheroes or Kevin Smith. ^_^

Apparently CityTV will be showing the "The Yule Log" from 6am to 10am on Christmas morning. I got word of this from one of our freelancers who works there, and he says that it typically gets more ratings than regular programming - because people are not going to watch Christmas shows on Christmas morning. But CityTV showing one of those pre-taped fireplaces? Unusual.

AIBO has sold out on SonyStyle.ca... I may have missed my opportunity v_v Robotoys sells them to Canada, but at $1300US and shipping I'd be paying twice as much... Boo! This sucks. And no-one is interested in holding an AIBO Shindig in Toronto... I guess I may have to settle for visiting that friend who has one of their own...

Work was partially entertaining and partially frustrating today. Since Saturday our feed from Italy has resembled Internet video, complete with horrible compression and blockiness. I called our contact on Saturday and it still hasn't been fixed.

If I ever had a company that's supposed to deal with uninterrupted video streaming, I would offer refunds dependent on the amount of downtime or errors (i.e. If a feed was down unexpectedly for 1% a month, I would refund 1% of what I charged).

As I wrote the last two paragraphs, "La Vita é Meravigliosa" ("It's a Wonderful Life") is playing... and I think they finally corrected the "Internet Video" problem... kinda. Maybe it's because it's B&W...

The entertaining part comes from a new special that arrived today - an hour-long Christmas Concert held in a local church... It's incredibly well-produced and awesome to listen to.

Before I left for work, I went scouring for Egg Nog recipes. I discovered the primary items in 'Nog are eggs, milk, sugar, and nutmeg. Almost all the recipes called for egg whites, but I just used the leftover yolks from the royal icing, put the ingredients together, cooked it slightly in a double boiler, and, amazingly enough, I made Egg Nog!

Amazing that I can't cook, but I can make stuff when motivated ^_^ (Seanna also noted that we have 3 litres of packaged Egg Nog, but I made homemade anyway ^_^)

I'm still considering getting the car... I could handle it financially. I should visit a dealer and see how comfortable/familiar they are, otherwise I could end up with a car that I don't like.

No Air Conditioning... I typically roll down the windows in the summer anyhow.

Automatic... I don't know how to drive a stick. It costs more but I'm more likely to pay more in repairing a damaged clutch than the price of auto...

Radio included, but I'd think about getting a CD Player later...

I'd own this car after 4 years... Can I manage $500 a month for the next 4 years? Yes, as long as I don't lose my job - heck, the majority of the cost I could pay now, although I'd be flat broke if I bought it outright...

I hate how my Dad goes on about this stuff. "Won't see a better deal for a long time" ... "Might need to take a taxi now and then to get to work" ... Which may be why I'm hesitating - I don't want to deal with his sell tactics. Thankfully he's not the one selling the car; it's his brother (my uncle). If I go forward with this I don't want Dad's fingers all over it - especially since the family's not too pleased with my uncle at the moment...

Also, how do I pay for it? Post-dated cheques, auto-bank-transfer, credit card... *shrug*

And why only white or burgundy? Bleagh...

What's the saying about rent and transport? That rent costs half of your salary or something like that. I figure that with the car, "rent" at my parents, and a generous weekly allowance of my own, that it comes to just over 2 weeks' worth of work at IPTN every month.

Sabrina notes that I live right on the subway line, and there is a car for me to use most of the time, as well... and this thing about Dad using the car is only until the summer when he can take out his "baby" - the Mustang.

I think I can handle this, but I'll sleep on it.

Hm... Mom has noted that the guy across the street from us has a car he's selling... and it's blue. That's all I know about it at the moment - and it's not here at the moment so I can't go look at it.

Sabrina and I exchanged gifts today, but I'm not going to say what they are at the moment because it's not quite Christmas yet ^_^

My "smile dimples" are red... that means that I've been smiling a lot. Then again, on the way out of Sabrina's place, her Mom offered to put together a massive 2nd Breakfast for me :P Pasta, oranges, apples, OhHenry bars :P I'm going to keep most of it for tomorrow as no stores will be open for me to get food ^_^

Wataame's gift arrived - I wasn't sure if she had wrapped it or not, and I opened the package... thank you Wataame! I will definitely use it! Again, I'm not going to reveal what she got me until Xmas ^_^

Wataame also got engaged to Gygaxis!! Wow... that's incredible. I never expected that to happen... ^_^ Congratulations to you both!

Dec. 24, 6:10pm:
I don't like the station anymore. >:( Dammit, they were supposed to go live at 6:30 and started at 5:50. It was ok because I was already broadcasting live, but I wasn't recording for the first 15 minutes. >:( So much for Midnight Mass being perfect. *sigh* not that it matters much... the video signal's still crappy. I'll just fade it in on the editor and leave it at that.

This just wrecked my night. As if working on Christmas Eve wasn't bad enough...

7:00pm:
...well, at least I caught it when I did - it was still early and they hadn't begun the readings (which is what is happening right now), so it won't be all bad.

~~~
I managed to get a fairly good starting point and re-created the Midnight Mass. I also fixed their tech glitch at the end of the show. I was pretty upset with myself when I realized that one of the most important shows wasn't being recorded... half an hour later and I'm feeling alright about it. :P
We're going to watch A Christmas Carol (black and white version with Alastair Sim) later on tonight... they're showing it on TV at 11:30 at night, but since we have it on tape we could watch that any time we wanted :P
Merry Christmas to everyone - and to all those who don't celebrate Christmas, enjoy your holidays and may you have a wonderful and prosperous New Year.
I'm gonna go watch "It's a Wonderful Life" -- in English -- with my family. ^_^ Followed by "A Christmas Carol"... ah, life is good. ^_^
I hope that everyone gets what they hoped for and that they do not have any problems in this most festive of holidays.
