Okay, I can't even recall how I ended up watching this -- oh yes, now I do, someone had a set of .gifs animating this and I just had to see what this game was about.

So, considering that a few of my friends are playing through a game where all the characters are literally pigeons, and one of those people heading it up has his own show called Stumbling Through, I figured that they would get a kick out of this.

This is Surgery Simulator 2013, "Rage Quit" Edition, by Rooster Teeth (yes, the Red vs Blue guys). The objective is to perform heart surgery. And... that's all they leave you with - aside from the table, the patient, and the tools.

I have to admit, I'm kinda... wanting to try this. Just for the sheer absurdity of it all. Where else can you shatter a person's ribs and pull their lungs out with no effort whatsoever? Just watch the actual arm flex with such elasticity as if Stretch Armstrong was doing the work.

edit ...oh god that came out sounding so sadistic, didn't it :S

edit 2: Ah, will you look at that: It's playable online with Unity installed. Knock yourself out. :D

Okay, I need to let this out somewhere - every time I see an exasperated American Youtube player, I'm always put off by how... crude they all are. It's a sense of humour based primarily around volume, and I'd hold up an earlier Rage Quit video I saw and this beautiful explosion in comparison. Having said that, the moment when they realized the heart was gone was great - and I did enjoy the Casualty theme music. The game looks funnier than it sounds - like a surgical QWOP :)

And it sounds so... high and mighty to "have my own show"! But in the age of Youtube, anyone can - it's an ability that I hadn't even noticed had become available.

Now that you mention it, I see it too -- lots of f-bombs and blowing out of the speakers, just as you said. That's a really good way of putting it -- there's plenty of ways to create humour and the British method requires wit while the American method seems to primarily be slapstick. I'll admit that I enjoy both (obviously) :)

(Oh my god, mapping ABXY to A, B, X, and Y...)

The title screen reminds me of the Farming Simulator games as well, this must have been a parody. (Reading more about this game, they actually plan to develop something more detailed with a couple more items -- like dentistry. I'm scared.)

Did you notice "Hammer Time!" and "That's Saw"?
